Ice Dyeing an Alien Spine T-Shirt
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
I learned how to do the “Alien Spine” design from another tie-dyer on RUclips, Casual Collisions. He's got some great tutorials, and you can view his channel here: ruclips.net/user/CasualCollisions I’ve made a few of these shirts using different colors so I thought that for these two, I’d show the entire process from start to finish. #kalmtiedyes #alienspine #icedye #tiedye
Tie-Dyeing A “Color Wheel” T-Shirt
Просмотров 8874 года назад
In this video, I create a “Color Wheel” T-shirt by using the three Primary Colors (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) to mix nine additional Secondary Colors, for a total of 12 colors. I used a CMY Color Wheel as a guide when I mixed the dyes. As a beginner, I felt like this would be a fun way to experiment with color mixing and see what colors Imcould achieve using only the three Primary Colors. The co...

My First Legit Tie-Dye - Part One
Просмотров 4444 года назад
I’ve always loved tie-dye, and after doing some t-shirts using a kit, I knew I had found a new hobby! I did some research, watched A LOT of videos, bought some dyes and a whole bunch of t-shirts, and jumped right in! This video takes you through the first part of my First Legitimate Tye Dye Project: • Mixing the dyes • Prepping the t-shirts • Applying the dye • Batching the shirts. This is the ...
Beautiful, thanks for your explanation very clear. Got it!
The rainbow's lovely, too. 💗
OMG! That's amazing! 💗
Wish you were still making tie dye videos. Beautiful. My cat is looking for the squeaky toy.
Thank you for being patient with you. Amazing vibrations and video.
So nice...
Thank you for being real and showing us that everybody messes up and sometimes has to undo the mistake and try again! That's why I like watching your videos
Oh my gosh
Hello and I'm so happy to find your channel. Your new homestead is lovely, and that first tapestry is meant to be in that space. I've recently moved back to the states, looking for inspiration in my new workspace. I so hope this is why I happened on your video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and I look forward to tomorrow! Namaste 🙏 Wanda
Your Mandalas are gorgeous, thank you for teaching us!
Glad you like them!
For gosh sakes you are the talent please turn down the background music
Sorry you didn’t enjoy the music. My voice is louder than the music. You should have no trouble hearing me.

Nathol colour koren please tok
Osam
Good job! Good colors, too.
Hi very nice! I know some people like music while watching but i find it challenging normally i mute but you were speaking. Not complaining just letting you know. I do vids for gem trees and it’s so hard! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback. I have the music on to avoid long, awkward silences when I’m not talking. If I make more videos I’ll try lowering the volume of the background music.
Thank you much appreciated! ❤
I was just wondering about John Mayers newer stuff, so thank you for using it. It gels well with tie-dye.
The music playing in the background is not John’s new stuff. It’s a live show he did back in 2007 called Where the Light Is. It is one of my favorite live shows from any artist. It really showcases his talent.
Boa tarde, você não usa carbonato de sódio?
You really REALLY are a great teacher. I've been struggling with the mandala tie and you've really put it into view! Thank you so much! BTW you're cute as can be!

Is so beautiful, this is the colors that I like 👍 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Amazing.
Beautiful job!
That’s awesome 🎉❤ Help me a lot. What material is that rope?
They both look great. Did you have the rack on an incline at all?
I have the rack flat on top of the bin while I’m applying the dye powder and the ice. Once that’s done, I set one end of the rack down into the bin, with the other end of the rack extended out past the other end of the bin, causing it to sit on an incline. The neckline (top) of the shirt is at the higher end of the incline. This is also where the center line is. I keep it this way until it’s done batching...so right up until I rinse it out.
Do you have a list of colors that tend to split more than others?
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm just starting out and hope to make something as beautiful. I really like your shirt, what colors did you use? Any chance you'll do a video?
Hi there!! The shirt I’m wearing in this video is a side arch design that transitions into a random scrunch. It was ice dyed with only one color, Muir Green from Dharma Trading Company. I don’t have a tutorial for this particular shirt, but I do have at least one video that shows the folding and tying of a side arch design. For the transition, I just don’t carry the pleats all the way out when I’m folding. Instead, I stop and just scrunch the fabric up about halfway through and tie it with kit string, then ice dye as usual. Hope that helps!

So beautiful
Love these shirts, very good job on the tie. Now I want to do these again. I stepped away from ice for a minute but this shows me why I love it so much. ✌🏻❤️
Yeah ice dyeing was a game changer for me!!
