Interesting. Buffalo Jackson does have their "limited edition" bags that are veg-tanned. I was looking into their ROOSEVELT BUFFALO LEATHER PILOT BAG. It sells for $399. I would be interested to see a review on this bag or any other of their other bags. Curious, I don't see a lot of video reviews for Buffalo Jackson.

hi! great review, i ordered 2 bags just to see what i was dealing with...after inspection and 5 min , I packed up the bags and sent them back....very thin strap and cheap like buckles just....not good. Then I saw this was made in India...ehhh, not good. Id rather get from made in USA ...I usually give all the leather makers (USA types) love, they all do their craft and ensure the bags last a log time.

Thank you! The video was helpful to make a decision on whether or not to buy this bag. That being said, didn’t appreciate so much shade being thrown at India in the process (and not even have data points to support the allegations). If you wanted the “superior” craftsmanship and better leather, why didn’t you just pay extra and buy something made in Europe instead? Struggling to understand how someone reviewing leather products can expect to get a full grain leather bag for such a low price point without any corners cut 😊

I've always loved the look of the Filson Rucksack, but I cannot figure out where they were going with it. It looks phenomenal on the back...until you start putting anything in it that'll bulk it up. They put zippers...on a back with a strap closure. It's a rucksack with skinny leather shoulder straps. Not the greatest for carrying heavy things. They couldn't decide between modern and vintage...and took the worst aspects of both. It's like the Medium Field Bag...but they added another strap and a zipper. In all honesty, I wish they did a collaboration with Frost River and make the Isle Royal Mini in Rugged Twill...then you have what this should have been.

In my expereince of close to 10 years with saddleback....Chrome tanning somehow leaves the core material and skin wanting to separate or not seem to be homegenious...and you get bunching and cracking of the outer surface layer. You can see it in this vid. I've sent many items back due to this. I only buy the tobacco as this seems to resist this the most. I wish they offered veg tanned versions. Chamberlains doen't help this....nor anything else I've tried.

I had the Saddleback Case on my 11 Pro Max for just under two years. Recently upgraded to a 13 Pro Max - and have bought another Saddleback Case. Love the case - it took months to break in - a great case. Mine was never super tight - but my phone never once fell out of the case - so your mileage may vary. I dropped a few times and the leather provided excellent protection. My case went from light chestnut to a dark walnut. I regularly conditioned my case.

Just received my Stock & Barel Redford Western wallet and it's obvious they have become a vivtim of their succes and now produce and ship shoddily manufacured wallets (certainly the one they sent to me). I have contacted them about my complaints and never heard back from them! Sewing machine marks from having the machine pressing too hard on the leather when stitching. It’s the same on the other side as well. Poor fit on the outside piece of leather which once folded stretches the leather, which in turn shows the poor dye quality; as the dye really didn’t penetrate well enough into the leather and when folded shows that. Slip-shod dye quality as the inside was not even completely dyed before assembly and shipping. Now I guess I could could understand all these defects, “if, I had bought one of the seconds you offer”, but to send this wallet out as first quality and charge as such I find to be very poor business! On top of it, I had to pay 20€ in French customs VAT tax on an imported product, (though that’s not your fault, just rubs salt into the wound!). I bought this wallet as a gift for my son’s birthday and sad to say, I’m embarrassed to offer it to him. When I showed the wallet to my wife and her dad, who are both French, (I’m American) they just laughed at me and said, “you should have bought a wallet here in France as we have excellent quality leather products”. Great advertising for US made products, eh! Like I said in an earlier e-mail sent to the contact address, all the fun videos and “happy talk” you have on your site go down the drain, when you see what they really are: “just happy talk and false promises”! Signed “A very disappointed customer!”

I had an issue with stitching going off the side of the wallet and wasn't connected completely so I emailed them. They got back to me a couple days later offering some money back since there was a blemish or they would send a replacement. You're gonna get the sewing machine marks on the leather which happens when you use a sewing machine vs hand stitch but it keeps the product cheaper for us rather than like double the price. I can see the marks even in the videos stock & barrel do themselves. As far as the dye I'm not sure. Could be because its brand new but either way that does suck you got a wallet you're not happy with. Besides the stitching issue mine is great. I oiled it up and it darkened up some from the natural and it looks great. Can hardly see the machine marks anymore even after only a week. Not sure what email you used but they should get back to you within a couple days. support@stockandbarrelco.com

@@ksajak Hello, They took a while to reply, however they finally reimbursed me for the cost of the wallet, so no further complaints from me. Glad it worked out for you! My major complaint is that the photos on their site had nothing to do with what they were sending out as first quality product. Poor staining on leather and stitching too tight making wallet fold poor. Like I said, they refunded my money so that was a plus for them.

@@fredrickwerstein546 mine was a gift and for some reason they decided to buy one of the blemished wallets for me come to find out. I had no idea. I didn't even know they sold blemished wallets. So I apologised and let them know I wouldn't have asked for it as a gift if I had known that's what they were going to do. We were in the talks of working something out and they just stopped replying to me. I had planned to buy the smaller card wallets for my wedding coming up as gifts for my groomsmen because I thought it would be a great idea. I let them know that I was thinking about doing such too, but after them just ghosting me like that I'm just going to take my business elsewhere. I don't want another blemished wallet and don't want to have to jump through hoops. It's just disrespectful and not good business. So be it! Such is life I suppose

One thing about the style of the SBL bags is you can dress them up or down. They pair well in any and all environments. I live in the Bay Area. I wear casual jeans and a suit jacket for one meeting and a three-piece suit for another. I take my SBL bag (classic leather briefcase DCB) in any and all situations, including hiking. The style reminds me of the old rugged western manly men movies (Spaghetti Westerns, think Clint Eastwood) even the doctors used leather bags when they visit the sick. I always thought seeing the attorneys in the courtrooms carrying an all-leather bag was "fancy" and now I do. Perhaps I'm "fancy" now? ;) I'm a huge fan (addict) of SBL. I got the SBL bug years ago, now I buy Love41 bags for wifey. Thanks for the video. I appreciate it. Angel from The Bay

Oh, and when you get to a point where you want to give it a refresher, down the line that is, I used a very very very small amount of Saphir Renovateur on a Saphir chamois (on a wallet I made with natural glazed harness) and it looks fantastic. I didn't want it to interfere with it much, so I just did tiny light dabs all over a chamois and then worked it into the cloth, then used that to buff it.
