So....if this story takes place in Maine why does he have an accent of someone from the American South?😂 Oh yah, because he's a country boy.... This is a good narration but the accent is so stereotypical its ridiculous.

glad so many of you are enjoying this for the first time I first heard this audiobook near 20 years ago it's the best short story king did he won an award for this. John cullens voice makes the whole audiobook . ps it's the devil I think the fish Is a symbolic thing that saved the kid .

Why wouldn't he eat the whole family, if he was that hungry? I mean, either the kid hallucinated the encounter or god really did intervene after all. And wouldn't 1914 pennywise be a bit more relentless? Good story, though, kinda spooked me after all!

I feel like this isn’t the devil but, IT. He wanted to eat the boys innards, told him a story about his mother so the boy would be afraid and took the form of the devil because that’s what a god fearing country boy would be afraid of. I’m probably wrong
