The whole band shared vocals throughout this album, which is interesting; Ulrich Roth who replaced Michael Schenker as lead guitarist in 'Drifting Sun' also handles lead vocals in it. He's also dealing with co-vocals in 'Fly To The Rainbow'.

A great song, but it creeps me out a little, because it was a popular song at the time of the Hillside Strangler killings here in Los Angeles in 1977. When I listen to this song, all I can think of is the grotesque brutality of the Hillside Strangler murders, committed by Angelo Buono and his adopted cousin Kenny Bianchi. Evil and tragic.

I just listened to the 2008 remastr of this song . wth. Just cause compression is digital now does not mean to kill the sound. My god the beat dr. On that was awful. I have the vinyl i bought wen i was a kid and the sound was waayy better.

I love how everyone has different interpretations..I connect with the lyrics, "inside looking outside millions of faces but still alone and a long long way from home" as INSIDE being inside his own soul, BEING ALONE DUE TO CONFLICT OF HIS TRUE DESTINATION.long long way from home I saw a spiritual aspect by the use of decayed apple and paying the penance..
