To me, the highlight of this weapon (and also the regular backhand blade, but more specifically this weapon) is using it with the deflecting hardtear, the guard counter does good stance damage, hits 4 times so it quickly builds up bleed and successive attack buffs, and right after a riposte you can use the weapon's unique skill which for some odd reason has non-existant recovery time if you r1 as soon as the animation for the ash of war ends

halberd are very good against malenia, i don't know how it perform for a no hit attempt tho :P
