Baum Lake Fishing- we were DEMOTED and we were delighted for it!
Carl and I go trout fishing. Our guide, Matt, demoted us from 6x to 5x tippet because we couldn’t handle the delicate technique. And we were delighted since we were able to stick fish, play them and land them. We caught over 30 fish between us. Created with the #GoPro App on my iPhone.

Hi Steve. You can rent boats from the Lake Chabot Marina. They’re nice people, they can help you out. Their hours are posted on their website. I went trolling from the island to Raccoon point. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I'll never forget the 86" sturgeon i battled for 45 minutes on very light line. Caught from the bank. I'm planning on a trip to go back there. This was 20+ years ago before we even had smartphones or youtube. We have a 90-100 year old sturgeon at the lake nearby the last time it was almost caught was like 2015 it's estimated to be around 600+ lbs. It's trapped there until it dies since there is a damn and it cannot go back to the ocean.
Thank for watching and thank for your comments. My sturgeon was only 40 inches and it put up a good fight . I can only imagine what a tremendous battle your fish gave you.

we used eggs and nymphs, but by far there were biting on eggs.
what part of the river were you fishing? I thought the upper river wasn't open until the new year.
We were fishing west of Hwy 70, and south of 162 and south of RiverbendPark. You are correct upper river not open until Jan 1st.

Can I ask approx. where on the Feather? Not exact, just a general area? I just got a 11'3" 3wt spey rod and I was thinking the Feather would a be a good place to try it out. Thanks for the vid!
This fish was caught o the high flow section somewhere down stream of the East Gridley Rd bridge.your best bet is to hire a guide to get to know the river, consider one of the guides that I used.good luck

i forgot to ask how many take downs did you have?
I hooked and landed 3 fish on this trip, got another hook up and fight, got two other grabs but not on long enough to hook or fight.
