My hydrostream after the crash , I extended the bow section to mimic a vector !

This is my 1977 hydrostream viper hours before I lost control and went into a bunch of cypress trees at 45mph , fortunately I only had a few small cuts and it didn't sink after the crash . Be safe in these boats they are squirrely when you come off the pad ! God bless ...

Viper hydrostream new motor finally here !
What speeds are you seeing with this setup
57 mph with a 22 pitch lazer 2 , probably could get it in the 60's with a higher pitch ?
AWESOME!! any porposing issues youve ran into @@matthewroper7867
Beautiful boat, I have the same merc and it's a fantastic engine
greetings from jackson county ms
For sale?
Great ride. How fast is that Viper with the ProXS 115 ? Thanks,
It runs 58 with a 22 pitch !
@@matthewroper7867 thanks 👍👌
I'm glad you was driving, I would need a wider river to run like that!😅😅
Cool rig.
Damn that thing is quiet.
Nice boat
Is your buddy Boomhauer?
Wow! Great job on body work on that viper!! Had me scratching my head thinking that was the Vector and the black a Vking
I just bought one waiting to break it in
What kind of hull you installing it on ?

over powered by far.
glad ur ok but i chuckle at all your videos cuz that 115 looks like a 400 on there!!!!!
So what does it top out at?
57 mph with a laser II 22 pitch prop , I could go taller and get it in the upper 60's but it does really well now with 4 adults like it is !

Missing the windshield.
Nice! ruclips.net/video/njiwfmzfies/видео.html
bro. no batteries up front. one good one in back. i have 2 seats . carpet! i'd love to see 4 adults in that with a cooler! ha. and get an over the hub prop. hydromotive 4 blade. semi cleaver! free speed to point jack the motor up! you did do a good job!
I had a 1972 Tahiti that was very similar in design. The hull design was originally designed by SIDEWNDER. TAHITI copied it. I owned the number 4 of production. Mine was purple. I put a 120 hp Chrysler long shaft on it. The hull was a semi-vee bottom. My best top speed was a out 63 mph. My Tahiti was a 16 footer. I sold that boat to start my manufacturing shop......and I cried like a baby for days. Years later I went through a divorce. That almost killed me. My shop turned around and I bought a sail boat of 25 feet. I loved it.....at first. It was either too hot, too cold....too windy or raining. Geez Louise , what did I do. Well, I sold that boat and bought a FERRARI. My GOD, there is nothing like being in your own parade. Those cars are not chick magnets. A Corvette or a Porsche get their attention, but not a a guy in a FERRARI. And that my readers.........is why men have the...P _ N _ S.
Nice video. That's fast and cool Bro. I like it.
Yes Sir….good looking boat.
So is the blue one a VKing? I didn't hear. And Hydrostream's product line & years are mildly confusing... Nice river rockets both of 'em!
The blue boat is a 1977 viper with an extended front end 14 " , I lost control last summer and crashed into a cypress grove !
@@matthewroper7867 jacked up and over trimmed man? What happened?
@TBear 68 I came off a wide open run and the river had a slight long bend to the right so when the bow came down I was looking at the woods and no time to react ?
@@matthewroper7867 Ouch! Glad ur alright and the boat is back.
@@matthewroper7867are you talking about the blue and white one?
cool boat !!
Nice boat brother.
The motor mounts in those are total garbage for that application. You are going to have more driving lessons in the future.
Those are not motor mounts there simply back up braces on a 42 year old transom , always got to be a hater in the crowd !
@@matthewroper7867 No shit. I mean the flabby ass rubber motor mounts in the motor. Mine is 46 years old. ruclips.net/video/Wl-O2KRpqHA/видео.html
Sorry about that , I thought you were referring to the brackets I built !
Time to let her eat!
You and Cleetus McFarland would get along great!
17 vector would chine walk but other models small and large drive ok.
THEY ALL CHINEWALK IF YOU CANT DRIVE IT ...LOL CHINE WALK IS A REULT OF POOR SKILL / .BAD SETUP ...OR BOTH
Beautiful boats
I would have put at least a 150 on it!
They are $3,500 more and about 100 pounds heavier ?
That's the problem with 4 strokes on older hulls, weight. I run an old 200 merc, weighs 360 lbs. That's all my boat can handle weight wise without proposing. All I could run 4 stroke that weight would be a wimpy 90hp.
@Stan Merck I crashed into a grove that summer before the motor was even broken and as a result the rebuild on the front end made the hull quite heavier , plus 2 batteries up front so the top speed now is 55.4 but so stable no chin or porpoising at all .
My 18 year old granddaughter drives it really well .
@@matthewroper7867 THEY DONT GET UP ON THE PAD TILL 55 /60 DEPENDING ON HOW HEAVY IT IS... SO YEAH IT DRIVES LIKE A SKI BOAT NOW...LOL
get the battery put it un the back put the other on shore nothing should be in the front
There is no room in the rear it's wall to wall with a 15 gal gas tank , I restored the boat heavy just for family fun !
Do you have images of the boat after the crash?
Yes , and it's almost ready for the water again I will make an update video when finished .
I never did like how Hydrostreams "chine walk" like they do. STV's on the other hand are rock stable unless you get to much air under them. The like Hydrostreams you go swimming the result of a blow over!
In that Video it is purposing because there were 3 people in the boat all the weight was on the passenger side my daughter was in the back filming , it never does that when I'm in it .
Spend enough years in light and fast V-bottoms and you'll get where you don't notice the chine walk. Drive right through it with minimal steering input. Like a manual transmission vehicle that you drive everyday, you can drive across town and never think about the gear shifts
chine walk is a result of lack of skill ....the drivers slow reaction to hull oscillation ....more seat time and proper steering input eliminates these issues. .STV has training wheels for those that don't have the skill to drive v-bottoms ...FACTS!!! ALLISON V-BOTTOMS HAVE MORE WINS IN OB DRAG RACING THAN ALL OTHER HULL MFG COMBINED INCLUDING STV!!!LOL TRAINING WHEELS !!!! LOLOLOLOLOL
I loved driving the Viper. The chine walk is no problem for a good driver, I agree. However, If I do again I’m going Skater!!
@@prettypepper9139 FYI CHINE WALK IS THE DRIVERS FAULT NOT THE BOAT....LOL
Glad to read you're ok after the crash. She was a beaut,
THANKS , SHOULD BE BACK IN THE WATER BY SPRING ?
She's a beauty! ruclips.net/video/njiwfmzfies/видео.html
Thank you
That transom bracket is highly overkill unless the transom is just rotten. A good transom will hold that motor without issue and without extra bracing... Slick boat though! Interested to seee how it runs!
The transom is original and 90% solid the brackets are there for just in case and the top fuel dragster look ! Lol
I lost control coming off a wide open plane and crashed into a grove of cypress trees , the front end is under major reconstruction , hopefully it will be back in the water by spring !
Did you find out how fast it goes flat out? I'm curious
57 , it's proped to low I need to go up in pitch it comes out of the hole quick . I have a 24 pitch I want to try .
@@matthewroper7867 is it on the limiter at top speed?
Hydrotech 90 Yamaha 2 stroke would probably be faster Much lighter too Boat runs great man probably cheap on fuel

Let’s see it ride👍
pretty sick dude, I love the color you chose! let's see where you can take it, I assume your boat is re cored fresh transom? Also what is the second battery for?
I bought the boat in 2013 for $400. , the transom was pretty solid but the floor was rotten , redid all the floor seat bases , coring , doubled up the stringers all in west systems epoxy , microfibers , woven roving . There are no screws in the floor . The boat sat restored for 5 years before I could get a good motor for it , getting it dailed in now . The second battery is for my stereo while I'm on a sand bar I can switch to #2 and always know I have a fresh one to start the boat ?
@@matthewroper7867 if the transom was solid why use all that alum bracing? lol what did you use to remove the core? how did you remove the core ? did you split the hull?

lol. thats funny cool shit!
Lookin' good!
Damn thats a lot of motor on a Viper! How does it float when not moving?
It's sits beautiful , those 115's only weigh 359lbs and I have 2 batteries up front !
