As a kid growing up on Silver Strand Beach in the 1970s, I have good memories of playing on the rocks that covered the ship.
I love that they say the park is maintained. The county of Ventura has failed miserably in everything related the the Channel Islands Harbor and surrounding areas it is pathetic.
Glenn chato loco lives
Turn the music off please.
There are clips from Master and Commander in this. Great video.
Dear Sir, I would like to know how to prepare the bottle before inserting the boat .
Ed Marple was an amazing ship modeler. His work was my first real ship modeling inspiration when I started building ship models some 30 years ago. By the way, you said the Dutch referred to the ship as the Black Devil. However, every other reference I've seen says that they called it the Golden Devil, not the Black Devil.
The bathroom🚽 ?
Hello 1a
This video said Channel Islands Harbor is in Ventura, however, Channel Islands Harbor is in Oxnard, Ventura County, California.
1:20 GTA theme XD
Excellent sir
Super sir very very nice
I saw this shortly after it went aground and collected a lot of deck chairs, oars, sails and survival food from the lifeboats. It was so windy that day. I still have the Press Courier Sunday paper of this event. I think I made two trips to the beach that day to collect stuff.
Mükemmel 🇹🇷
When she went aground, we'd swim out to it and climb all over her and dive from the bow. A few yeas later as a Firefighter, I was dragging hose across the sand to extinguish the fires on board, started by cutting torches.

I just watched 'Floating Inferno', which highlights Bahama Star's greatest achievement when she rescued the survivors of the Yarmouth Castle disaster.

I was only 6 but I remember it. I have a pic of my great grandma standing at Hueneme Beach with the LaJanelle capsized. It was about 5 days after the storm when the pic was taken. Great piece of our family history.
this is trash
Far as livin history goes, pretty neat. Y’all watching this for school should be happier with your teachers. This is a hell of a lot better than the mind numbing pain of reading the same shit silently as a group for like an hour. Plus you could look up the way better, darker, horrifying shit these folks actually went though. Like the story of the ‘Whaleship Essex’. Cannibalism, murder, big pissed off sea mammals. Hell, a guy named coffin shot himself in head rather than deal with the nonsense on the blue water. Learn to love learning about the sea. Surprise your teachers with some real talk about how many kids kicked it as cabin boys in the British naval service. Or the neat meatball surgery they’d do at sea. Give them the story about the sinking of Steamship Atlantic off Halifax. One lady on board got her skin ripped off by waves. Or the explosion of Halifax harbor, not at sea really but wow, very flashy. Really children, maritime history’s a lot wilder than y’all make it out to be.
WTF is this XD I have to watch this for school but I cba to listen to this bs.
Scurvy looks disgusting
I have to watch this for school i hate this lol
To be a sailor during wooden sail ship time? Thanks, but no.
Awesome
I've yet to visit this place even though it's in my backyard. I use to visit the old location(where Elite Theater is now) all the time. Watching this with my family sparked a need to get over there, finally. Not sure about this virus stuff and tours but we'll be finding out. I sure hope this guide is available. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

My relative was a physician on British ship. He broke at thigh on ship. There had cholera on a ship that approached His and they were asking for help. He was the only one on his ship who would volunteer to go. He apparently treated a lot of people until he broke the thigh, they think the near ship by His bumped his. The thigh was broke. He got to America eventually and became a preacher.. things he d seen on ship affected him so much, of course he couldn't sail anymore,
The truth of the story is that we Basques unfortunately had to go out to sea in order to survive, every day, and bring something to our families, the Basques crossed the ocean before Colon, we have never been moved by greed or conquest, we have never sailed to subdue anyone, much less steal land from other peoples, for that reason we were always welcomed by the first nations that inhabited those lands, after the fishing season, we returned to our land, with the oil that illuminated to all of Europe for that reason for not claiming any land, or fishing grounds, the kingdoms of England and France expelled us from the game, there are the treaties signed between French and English kings, there are the testimonies of whom the rest of the nations They learned how to fish from the BALEA (whale), there are the testimonies of those who had the best construction of all kinds of naval vessels, whoever wants to look for them and read them, I am not going to lose the time to give those documents, I am only going to waste time in honoring my ancestors who respected the people on the other side of the Ocean, especially the sister nation L'nuk while they gave us hospitality, in our land our women were burned to hundreds in bonfires for the Church ,, It goes for them !! ruclips.net/video/YmqlMgnbe30/видео.html
@3:31 thats scurvy ? more looks like hyperpigmentation or sun burns
