i am following the instructions exactly and every time I get to the "shift ctrl -" part it just deletes the entire model. what am I doing wrong??

If I am looking at a video "How to Cut a Model in Blender" it means I am already in Blender with my model and I want to do excatly that. No need to tell me where to download blender. first minute is useless

What happens when you do all these steps and the object still won't cut? I'm new to blender and I've been wrecking my head with it for a week

Shift control minus only seems to zoom out. Doesn't do anything. I do have bool tool added.

this just doesnt work for me for some reason, it just combines the object to the plane we are using to split/cut into it.

One thing you could do is select a whole edge loop around the cut area, copy it, paste it as its own object, then fill it in and solidify it.

Would it not work to just select all the vertices for the arm and then separate them with ctrl + P ?

How are you able to click both the cutting plane and model?? It’s not letting me select both at the same time???

You walked through where to go to enable the add-ons, but didn't actually state the name of the add-ons. Since the video is not clear enough to read them, I have no idea what to look for. When I search for 'printing', as you did, nothing showed up... as you didn't mention the name of the add-on, I cannot find it to download it.

Can you use this same technique to get a gunmetal type finish on a 3D print as well?

In blender, you can loop cut the model itself. Which saves a lot of time on some models. The other medthod is defining a seam and then cut along. But this asks for sectioning the model first because otherwise the screen will lag on 50mb+ models.

thanks for tutorial, one thing to ask, if i done all the separete parts, how can I add bones into the "seperated" parts? it will be messed after add bone function, anyway can solve this issue?

for some reason when I crtl-shift-minus it just deletes all but a few pixels of both my models.

Whatever i choose in boolean tool it always deletes the bottom portion of the object, it doesnt just cut and let the model as it is, it deletes the bottom portion of the model
