Licking Branch Strategies for Better MOCK SCRAPES
Heyy i placed 3rd in the world hunter class n a few points from shooter of the year! I shot 16 up in indiana ! I loved it but it takes soo much time to compete at that level! Good deal man
I'm shocked to hear that about cam Hanes. What a awesome thing to do for a complete stranger.
Will this work with an iPhone 14? I don’t have the pro only two camera lenses
“ you gotta be there at the right time” Best line I’ve ever heard. Sums it all up !
Chris was a monsta!!!
@@hardhathunters hahahaha. Honestly just did things others refused to do. Lots of people wanted to party when at those shoots. I hydrated, slept, and carried food and water with me. Thirsty or not i sat down on my chair after every target and drank water and then took a bite of something. Kept that blood sugar up and didn’t lose all my water. It got sooo hot out there. That kind of stupid stuff that you tend to over look really made a huge difference.
the most disgusting person is someone that refuses to learn. If you ever say "thats just how i hunt" and not change you deserve to not improve.
I appreciate that he calls it his hunting life, and not career like you hear all the time. Hunting is a journey. Real good interview.

Good review man thanks. Question, when you have the saddle on and with or without the shoulder straps can you still access the pockets in your jacket when you have many layers on during late season?
I plan on getting this stand but would like to know what stick you are using?
I love listening to Jake , he’s very smart about this hill country,, question I would ask does the drainages work the same as if they run N and S as running W to E
These are extremely pricey
I think this is great... I'm still concerned about the strength of rope of the prusik.
Have you tried the new hybrid hooded softshell? I like the hood and built in face mask on it. I’m not sure warmth wise how good it is. Ty
Sad I can't afford this stand 😢
Real interesting ... love finding rubs gets me worked up.
💪💪💪💪
Great job bud!
Did you have any problems with anything coming up missing or bear bag messed with? To be young and doing these adventures with my group of friends again. The number of times we looked back thinking how did one of us not die all those years.
where can i access that powerpoint
That’s a link to the MSU Deer Lab publication. We went over the Buck Movement study which should be the first one on that page
👍
I would be really interested in seeing if hill country bucks would have a larger or smaller home ranges, and bedding areas, when compared to these more flat land bucks. Also it would be interesting to see if or how the size of the home range and bedding areas change from year to year as the buck matures and gets older.
@@bradleylivingston6514 god that would be so awesome!
Got a link for the video where you discuss the powerpoint?
Maybe the Mississippi deer study.
That link is to the study we were going over. It should be the first publication on the page “Understanding Buck Movement”
Cool!
How do i find this study so i can read it?
Wow, I feel like I'm two years too late to this video. I had to rethink my self-filming set-up as my son lost my previous handheld Canon SX740 on a hunt. I was looking at new handheld DSLRs and mirrorless and realized the the camera companies have pretty much discontinued most of these as cellphones can do just as good a job. I previously used my cellphone to get some shots (B-roll, non target animals), but couldn't figure out an efficient way to utilize it to get kill shots. This gimbal looks like the ticket. Thanks again, subscription earned.
At 33:00 he talks about the internal clock that moves them at the same place and time. Well I work at a nuclear plant where the deer are everywhere. In the parking lots in the day time and even getting into the fenceline and giving us lots of alarms. So in 19 years I have watched the deer behavior. So the first day I hunted this year was mid october on the full moon. I was on night shift riding around on patrol for 6 hours. So the company planted saw tooth oaks decades ago around the parking lots. And the deer are thick. I didnt see one deer. They all "move" at the same time. Thats the way its always been there. When you see them they are everywhere...or nothing at all. So when I hurried to my buddies house after work he said he bet the deer moved all night. I said probably not.
I see more movement in the afternoons through the month of October. It seems to migrate into the mornings through the month of November. When I get into December it’s back to the evenings even into early afternoon. Central Arkansas.
My last two bucks killed; one was a waxing crescent, and the other was a quarter moon... no pattern there.
Heck yaaa !!💪
🤙
Really good stuff guys. You should do a shorts on 1:39.11-1:41.27 regarding buck movement in thick cover, but most hunters are setting up on the transition adjacent to the thick cover instead of being right in the thick cover. I make this mistake too much and like Danny Infalt says...you're just slapping them in the @ss when you set up like that.
"Thick cover" is subjective. Sometimes when I see a hunting video they are calling it thick because they can only see 50 yards. Where I hunt you can only hunt the edges. Because it's so thick you can't step foot in it or see in it past 5 yards.
His relationship with his dad reminds me of me and zeke.
Every time I hear Jeremy‘s story, I’m blown away all over again - it’s truly incredible. He’s not just sharing he’s experiences; he’s sending out such an important and inspiring message that people really need to hear. Great Podcast .Keep Hammering🔨……I just can’t get on board with crossbows, haha!
Jacob I was deeply saddened to hear that you’ve struggled with thoughts of suicide, especially on more than one occasion. Hearing you share that really hit me hard, and I’m still in disbelief. I hope you know that everyone is here for a reason, and I truly believe you’re meant to accomplish great things. Your knowledge of hunting and tactics at such a young age is incredible - it’s clear you have a bright future ahead. Keep pushing forward; you have so much to offer, and I’m certain you’ll go on to be one of the best.
It’s not crazy to say a large portion of does are in estrus at a certain period and therefor bucks are “locked down” with them and as they break off there is another estrus doe behind the next tree. Due to there being significantly more does than bucks in most areas. It’s not just “I’m in the wrong area”. People run 25-100 trail cams these days. There is absolutely a period where movement slows and almost even dies for a few days where I am.
People who?! Lol. Most people I know dont have more than 2/3 cameras. Maybe guys that have big properties to hunt but many that have the ability dont use that many cameras. If you have 25+ cameras, in my opinion, you have a problem. Lol
@ a lot of people have 25+ They are cheap now. Cells Often on sale for sub 50$ after season or BF It’s mostly younger people. Steve sherk has like 200
If you have a lot of acorns hunting food plots going to be slow that's Oct lull
Such a great group of guys
Have your kids man. Start having them young. Your priorities will all change. If you love her, do it.
I found the full moon to be horrible for hunting. I think you guys are giving the moon credit for bucks simply cruising doe bedding areas 1000-1400.
@@mb748 the point of that day is that you have a major and a minor during daylight
@@mb748 a major and two minors
3 guys id love to share camp with. what a hilarious time that would be. enjoyed the show fellas.
From Louisiana in Ohio now working. Been scouting public land the past three weekends. Big buck sign is really picking up. Full moon is November 16th. Ready to go!🦌
Should be good hunting! Good luck to you!
🦌🇱🇷🇱🇷
I been following this man since he had the first doit yourself hunter he knows what he's talking about about because I've seen it I'm 69 mid day is the way to go here in middle tenn it's fixing to get good
Jeremy is a wealth of knowledge
New moon, mornings and evenings. Full moon, mid-day.
I’ve definitely seen late morning/mid day movement during the full moons in person and with trail cam data.
Wow great review!!
The four days leading up to the full moon is always great big buck movement!
Spot on about EHD. Lower Michigan is being hit badly with it. We've had an extremely dry summer. I saw pics of 9 3+year old dead bucks, one guy found in October on his property.
My cellphone is LG K 92 5G
Nobody ever talks about just after peak rut. The week after what is considered peak.
