Bee Matter is just about that, things that matter to bees and the beekeepers that care for them. My name is Chris and I am a beekeeper (Bartel Honey Farms) in Manitoba Canada. I’ve had the unique opportunity to travel the entire country meeting other beekeepers as well as New Zealand and Chile to do the same. This is because we also import packaged bees and queens as well as the Ezyloader from M&K Stafford in Australia.
Through that all I have learned that there are only a few real rules in beekeeping but there is a huge variation in beekeeping practices and nuances and that is what I like to focus on, with a healthy side of humour and maybe even some entertainment. Trying to show the practices and nuances that help my own beekeeping and anyone else who may be able to get some tips from my 35 years of experience and my continuing quest to learn more. Hopefully it will have something to add to your beekeeping experience.
