Thanks so much for uploading this inspirational production and performance. It was a great help in teaching this unique play to Irish playwrights. These two actors really prove what great acting is.
I just watched this after the passing of Bongeni Ngema. May his soul rest in peace. Thank you to the person that posted this. I am a 34yr old Black South African and I'm still and will always be learning about South Africa's past and the role certain people people played in our the liberation struggle. I'm really amazed by how powerful this play is. Ngema is not a perfect human being but who is? Taking into consideration when this play took place, it made me realise how different people played different roles in the struggle. The Mandelas and Co dealt with politics. The Bra Hugh, Mama Makeba and Johnny Cleggs used their craft of music to protest. Ngema used his craft of playwriting to protest. From Sarafina to Woza Albert. These were strategic plays to protest against that day's regime. Using Christianity against that regime was very strategic. Thank you Baba Ngema. Our generation will always be indebted to you and you fellow comrades.
Good people. I am here not because i am writing or anything. My career is not in any way related to drama and arts. Am i the only one who is here because i want to understand Theatre? I always hear legends saying that Theatre is their first love above anything tbey have done in the industry.
I remember back in high school we did this play as part of our dramatic arts exams. Mr Du Pont was such an amazing teacher that I studied film and TV production after matriculating.

This is a phenomenal play. I know it like the back of my hand, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving it.
