What bootcamp did she go to?
It's great to see people making money and solving problems. It's a lot of inspiration, one day I intend to have my own product too.
Let us know what you think? What are you building? Tell us more here 👇
Thanks for having me guys!!! Was a blast :)
I have an idea for an app and my goal is to create it myself. How crazy is that?
This was extremely well done! I was searching for where I needed to focus and a client of mine mentioned solutions engineer. This advice is amazing. My soft skills are not an issue at all (former tv news reporter) . I am learning technical skills in school now. Thanks again.
I loved how you talked about killing your babies and having buffer between the idea and execution. I can tell from personal experience that that's the way to go haha! I tried making and growing a tech product last year that was my baby and benching it is the best thing ive done for myself and my mental health. I would love to get this podcast to other entrepreneurs in the world. Its unfair that so few people know about you Felix! I've send an email already but would love to chat on how I can help make COC into a #1 podcast :)

I tried to find John on LinkedIn but couldn't. Does anyone have a link to his profile?
Here you go: www.linkedin.com/in/pattonj/
Was it difficult to learn
It is October and on my last paystub YTD said $38k whaaaaat my goal is $100k this year. I have to get into the tech world. HELP❤
Powering through for a promotion is the biggest scam ever. There’s never any guarantee of a promotion, and chances are your promo gets turned down so you would have endured three more months of misery for nothing.
I think it depends on the person. Today, even with a college degree & lengthy experience .. people are having a tough time finding the IT Jobs everywhere.
I mean companies should start to request college degree again. To filter people, market its too saturated
I think you guys mean well , but people need to stop sharing stories of breaking into tech pre 2023. It is a totally different job market with the high interest rates. Show me the people breaking into tech no degree in 2024 and that is impressive. Back then it was way easier because companies had free money with how low the interest rates were so they hired alot of fluff employees. These videos are a waste of time and give people false hope.
It’s still possible today but, you pretty much have to no life it for the best shot. Also, one major thing that gets left out is yes, “everybody can code” but actually being an engineer/scientist something everybody can’t do, you 100% need some type of talent in the field in today market to have a shot especially if self-taught. I find that, the people who are complaining about not getting/landing jobs where mostly likely never qualified to begin with. It’s not a high skill job for no reason. It’s easy to be a “coder”, but to be an actual programmer requires high skills that are already out of grasp for most of the population.
this guy is an outlier. Now, u need a cs degree. rip boot camps or any of this no degree bs
I actually agree, now you need a degree or prior experience in most cases for big tech. Buttt you can also target lower paying tech adjacent jobs at local companies, like I did at a law firm, to help them automate their processes, and this could get someone out of a minimum wage job for example.
Not necessarily true but a extant yes. I agree 100% you need some formal education to get into the field but, you can get in without a degree. It’s just your going too pretty much have to no life it and work for free to have a shot in the field, and of course be talented.
The degree only helps with getting through ATS. In actuality, the employer only cares about what value you can provide to the company.
it's way easier as a (white) woman because their networks actually help each other out, like indians and the gay networks are good at. the broads are simply merging into the white majority actually while getting all the minority benefits.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am so proud of you. And, I am grateful for this channel.
Thanks for having me on Felix!
@FatherPhi How may LeetCode Questions did you do? And what Interview prep resources did you use?

Fantastic interview! Do you have Allison's LI profile by chance?
Seach for 'Allison Macalik Tibbits' on LI and she'll appear
That's our Billie. I am proud to be a coworker of yours and even more proud to call you my friend. I see your dedication daily and I am so hyped when we talk about what you learn about tech each day. Continue to be great! IT Team 💪🏾
Thank you for the support! <3 You have an amazing Billie on your team
Billie, thanks for sharing and inspiring others. The ripple effect will reach generations beyond your own and your children's. Happy for you and blessed by you. Thank you Culture of Code for spotlighting this amazing feat!
My mom also has an interview tomorrow! She’s been in jail for 8 years and my family would be so happy to have her back! Ur comment is inspiring :)
@@driapena9697 Best in luck with your mom!
She talked a lot about learning to code, but Tech Support is actually very different. One may type out some commands within a Windows shell occasionally, but I wouldn't call that coding either. I know tech support people that cannot code and I also know coders that do not have the skill set to do tech support. Tech support is often about finding configuration problems, incorrect installs, software conflicts, how to use an application like Excel, etc., etc.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am presently enrolled in a coding bootcamp. Starting over at 50 after a divorce and changing careers. You are an inspiration. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Congratulations on enrolling in a coding bootcamp - that takes a lot of courage and determination, especially when you're making such a big life change at 50. Wishing you all the best on your coding journey! Rooting for you! 🙌

Thank you for sharing. I have a question; What kind of calendar are you using? Is it a self-made one or a benchmark calendar, with specific features for your type of job or parenting/work focused? I'm a mom coding student myself, and I don't think I'm handling time management that well. So, any advice or time tools you could share?
Sir can you guide me, it is my last year of bca i donot have much skills i donot know what to do in future
