Does the clear container with the worms have holes at the bottom? I wanted to put the worms in my clear bin, but I heard that it's better to have them in an opaque bin. Have you found a difference in using a clear bin versus one that is not?

I do not have any holes on the bottom. to me, i have found no difference in what type of bin i used since i have them all covered up anyways.

Fantastic setup video!! I loved the time lapse of the ENC's diving down!! Great points about Uncle Jim's and the mix versus pure worms. Thanks for the shout out!! I'm so glad you showed the setup with the inoculating trays, I didn't do that in the setup video I made two years ago and I wish I had!! Again, excellent video!!🪱🪱🪱

To get cocoons you need to have sexually mature worms. In bins your size about 250 would be good

With your garden you don't kned to buy all the commercial fertiliser. or the stuff to turn your soil acidic. All you need to do is the wood chips every year and use your worm castings. Look up the original back to Eden garden and the Tour videos, you will learn alot from them

Nice walk-through of your garden and worm farm operation. I did a video showing a deep dive into the science behind worm reproduction and cardboard, along with sawdust, rated among the highest bedding materials. Of course, everyone's conditions are different and the researchers used specific parameters to do the comparison. I think reproduction also is seasonal, with a burst in the spring. I certainly notice a cocoon boom about now. ~ Sandra

If worms are coming out of your bin then you have a problem with that bin. If your worms are happy they wont come out. There can be a lot of reason why they are unhappy. 99% of the time my bins are fine but i still find things that make them unhappy. Allways test new ingredients in one bin first.

@@FJPlantDaddy The worms sell expensive. If you have a lot of buyers and lots to sell it is worth selling it. But the compost is more expensive than the worms itself. If I were you I would not sell my employees (the worms) because they are the ones that will make compost for you. Imagine billions of worms doing their job of composting without paying them salary, just feed and house them.

I gave you a like just because you are attempting to try your hand at this gardening thing. But maaaaan this hurts. lol.🤣Why didn't you just remove the flower buds and allow the branches to grow more? It's not going to kill them but I wouldn't start pruning until the 3rd or 4th year. Be encouraged.
