Here is just a video of me catching some early April 2024 crappie on Lake Oconee Georgia. The jig pole I'm using is a 13 ft. ACC Crappie Stix, 4lb. test mainline and leader.     Where were you able to get the spring loaded button for the pole? I'm having trouble finding the tapered kind that you have in your build.

      @@tinkanator2000 I machined the tapered part out of a block of aluminum. Ground off the button and fastened it to the spring. Cut a slot in the pole to fit where you want it to be. I think I robbed the spring out of an old landing net. You can buy them online though.

      If you've ever seen the locking buttons on telescoping poles I used the spring from it and machined a wedge shape to use on it instead of the locking button. Kind of hard to explain. Lol. Thanks for watching!!

    hello, please tell us what happens if you press the 2 buttons, but the leg that happens with the electronic assembly is short-circuited

      Nothing happens. The circuit board with the relays have that logic built in. There is no short circuit. I push both buttons all the time. Thanks for watching.

    How you do the base plate

      The steel plate is screwed into the deck. The base with the mag switches go on it. Other than that the video is pretty self explanatory. Maybe I just don't know exactly what you're asking?

      To me the time between beginning of prespawn to end of post spawn when they are moving in and out is vest time of year. Here in Georgia that would be beginning in late February. Temps will range anywhere between low 50s to mid 60s. You can use this technique year round though.

      The piece that goes on just before the handle is the steering collar. It's the same collar that came off the original trolling motor shaft and functions the exact same way. I don't have the free time to make any but I'm flattered that you'd ask! Thanks for watching!!

      Thanks for watching! You can longline year round however, the transition periods are the most productive times of the year, especially the prespawn. Other techniques are more productive at other times of the year. Use your speed to fine tune the depth you want your jigs to run. That's the main thing you want to use speed for.

    Good stuff. I wholeheartedly agree on the trolling motor, and I'm still using a 25 year old foot control. I'm sure I look hilarious at times when I'm by myself. Just at a stage of life with family and budget issues where its hard to justify the cost when I only get to go a handful of times a year.

All 3 stepper motors are closed loop 3 amp 425oz.in/2.8Nm holding torque. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07236DL9F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 That is the link to the same package I got. I used the motors, drivers, and power supply. The rest you can throw in the trash. Have had no issues at all in 2 years. Thanks again!!

      It does. No way the stock screws would work. By the time you adjusted the backlash out, it's almost impossible to turn.

      It has a hi lo gear driven spindle out of the box. I have a belt drive mod on it. Not aware of the "9 speed" you speak of.
