Wow - talk about memories! My grandparents used to live in this area and I remember driving past several of these places when I’d go to visit them.

When I was a child growing up in Huntsville, Alabama in the 60s, there were 4 drive-in movie theaters in my hometown. One was near the house where I grew up. Slowly all of them began closing down because they were losing money when the big movie theaters opened. When I came back for my 30 year class reunion, there was none. The last one was closed and torn down while I was in the Army. When I was a child the only thing my parents worried about was me being out too late past my bedtime in the summer. My son had to grow up with 9/11, terrorism, cyber-bullying, and AIDS. Where have this country gone to? Life did seem much simpler and easier when I was a child, where did it go to?
