Why slatted walls? Can the garage be “concrete blocked” to enable mini splits for env control?

I thought this house would be over a million dollars . I was impressed with the quality and I think the price is fair for what is being offered.

Perfect home for one of the cast members from Southern Charm or Honey Boo Boo to take up residence. Mama June might need an elevator, frankly, an elevator or space for a future unit would be a major plus. Being a high hazard flood zone, I think not. Did we not learn lessons from Hugo? As I always say, buy a lot, hire an architect, build to greatly exceed building code, and go crazy for waterproofing, insulation and efficient HVAC. Never buy from a national builder. Why you ask? The contract is ALWAYS, ALWAYS written and executed in FAVOR of the builder. Binding arbitration is ALWAYS in the contract blocking the buyer from suing the builder in court over construction defects. South Carolina is consumer HOSTILE. One compliment for the house, at least there are no six panel "Jesus" doors. Other than that, I see Home Depot/Lowes/HGTV finishes. Problems I do see, are the floors in the primary bathrooms. Your customer will probably be older and the slick floor tiles will result in a slip and fall. Find a floor finish with a "tooth" that is slip resistant. For the kitchen at MINIMUM, Sub Zero, Wolf, Miele for the twin dishwashers. The HVAC should be a multi zone ducted Mitsubishi heat pump system. In a house that size however the HVAC properly installed would $80,000 plus. So, they just do builder grade air-conditioning systems and then people wonder why the electric/gas bills are so high. We love gas cooktops but induction is the way to go now. Where do you plug in the Taycan? Do they have electric cars in Trump Country?

Please be sure to have any DR Horton new construction home fully independently inspected before signing on the dotted line. They are notoriously some of the most poorly constructed homes in the nation. Do not trust the inspector the realtor or the constructor recommends.
