The Instant Action Overhaul mod just updates the modes and options for instant action. There is a Battlefront Gameplay Rework mod, made by the same guy that heads up the Battlefront+ mod pack, which adds/enables a ton of guns.

What do y mean?

I've never needed to try, so I'm not sure. I guess it might depend on what files the crack modifies, and if any of those are changed by the mods.

If you need to run it completely offline, like with EA/Origin in offline mode, you can try using FrostyFix. I used that to basically map the game to use my mod profile, so I didn't need to use the mod manager to start the game with mods. I could just use the normal shortcut to start the game with mods. It's not exactly the same situation, but maybe that might work for you.

You would just need to download the mod manager program for the Frostbite engine, which is here: frostytoolsuite.com/downloads.html Extract it somewhere and run it. Then, download the mod from the nexus, www.nexusmods.com/starwarsbattlefront22017/mods/9310, and drag it over into FMM. As long as you have BF2 on Origin, you should be good. Valid question, though I'm not really sure. I think as long as you can run vanilla BF2 well, that should be okay. The mod page doesn't really talk about any special system requirements. FWIW, I run it on a gaming laptop - i7, 16GB ram and GTX 2070.

It's similar to Team Battle in Arcade, I think. The big things that are different is that these are the AI bots from Supremacy, so they're a lot smarter and use their abilities and stuff. The bots can't use reinforcements or heroes in Arcade either, but they can here. So it's a lot more interesting to play, compared to Arcade - which I haven't touched in years.

Specifically for the overhaul mod, it should be pretty simple. Depending on the issues, the folks on the BF Modding discord have a lot of troubleshooting info - discord.com/invite/gec6cd8 Once you start trying to add other mods, you have to worry about the order they're in and which may not work together. You also have to worry about hard drive space - some of the BF+ or BF2022 mods, they take up 10-30GB of space for each Frosty profile. My BF2 folder is like 170GB at this point =D

@@onewaydown tbh i modded haivier games and no problem all games tht ea makes goes broke i think its becuz of the game itself since mauls horns movi acurate mod work as a charm but to get just the overhaul mod to get heroe vs villain since btch ass ea fergot it to put it in offline but tht mod wont work tels me all the time errore plus shows all the errors and somtimes game launch but mod not in it

Aye. =\ Modded BF2 servers aren't that busy, especially now that 'kids' are back in school - and I can't play vanilla anymore. lol My PS+ expired earlier in the year, so I'm not really playing 2015 anymore. Was tempted to stream BF2042 but just figured it wasn't too worth it. We'll see what happens, though. Keep up the good fight with yours!

Well, I don't think I really main anyone. Especially now with all the modded heroes in BF+ and BF2022. I tend to bounce around a lot. From vanilla heroes, though, I'd say Luke and Han/Lando on light side are my usuals. Maybe Palps and Kylo on dark, Boba when I feel like blasters.

I'm not really using anything else. I tried adding some of the reinforcements from BF+ but there's too many shared meshes and stuff. But I do enjoy playing BF+ too. Both mod teams are doing great work with their projects.

Nah, just the regular ones. I know with BF+, they suggested to load cosmetics before the mods. But I don't know how these guys did it. I'd imagine custom skins might be tough, as who knows all the different meshes and stuff they had to use for all the new stuff. I think someone on Nexus mentioned they used the appearances from BF+ with it but I think it's a roll of the dice what might or might not work. Like, I added the Magnaguard from BF+ and it gave Cad Bane the cape. So they use the same mesh. You might need to test stuff out to see if anything might work.

As a general rule, bf+ stuff will be incompatible since we used a lot of the same meshes as them when having the custom characters. However you might find some compatibilities and you can always use simple replacer mods that replace normal character appearances (this is more likely to be compatible since we didn’t touch the normal characters much) :)

Appreciate the confirmation! As a side note, I'd love if you guys could add the new heroes to the Extraction and Blast team files for instant action. =) it's amazing when playing PM on Kyber, but when there's no servers running, it makes me sad just seeing the vanilla heroes in those modes. Understandable if it's not something that can be done w/o messing up PM files, but maybe at some point?

Yes, it's a mod for the PC called Instant Action Overhaul. It opens up a few game modes (HvV, Extraction, Blast) and tweaks a lot of the options and AI settings.

Yup. Mophead put out some tools to help modders make characters new and separate, and work with his IA Overhaul mod. Basically, giving people a tool to copy characters into one of a bunch of pre-made slots. He's keeping track of mods people are making for these slots here: www.nexusmods.com/starwarsbattlefront22017/mods/6427?tab=posts So Asajj here is completely new and separate. Greedo has been made by the same modder too. There are some reinforcements that have been and are being made, and Mophead hopefully will be putting out the reinforcements and heroes they had planned for their old Instant Action Improvements mod that Cade posted on Reddit last year.

You need to also use the updated Localization plug in. www.nexusmods.com/starwarsbattlefront22017/mods/6290?tab=files They're hopefully getting to a point with the tools that mods won't be incompatible with each other but can basically merge together. Problem is to get everyone to update their mods to use the new tools. If you're using the plugin and still get the error, maybe it's older mods that are trying to also edit the text/names.

I don't really know. I used the Alpha completely separate from my 1.0.5.9 version, to run it like from scratch, and had no problems. Maybe try deleting your moddata folder in the BF2 folder and see if that helps? Or maybe try posting on the mod's page to see if someone else might have a suggestion,

It should be just in the BF2 folder - like Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront II\ModData - if it exists. That's where all the mod files are stored when Frosty launches. But I suppose it would only be there if FMM worked at some point. Maybe try right click and running FMM as Admin?

I feel like he added some to like Hoth Supremacy in the old Instant Action Improvements, but I believe he said in the comments somewhere he wasn't adding them to this one. This is one of the only mods that adds more game modes to play. I'm sure there's likely others that add starfighters - you just wouldn't be able to use them with this mod, since this alters a lot of the same team files. @@onewaydown I noticed the guy also made a mod called "Instant Action Tweaks ", are overhaul and tweaks compatible or does overhaul alone also have the ai tweaks and changes.

Tweaks is the sort of more stable "prequel" to this one. It has the same AI changes. No extra game modes, so just the normal Supremacy and Missions. It has cross era but not selectable in-game - you have to run separate mod files if you want to not have all cross era heroes all the time. It was the base before he upgraded and added everything into to Overhaul.

Sadly, consoles can't support modding, so this would be something only on PC.

You'd need to make sure you're using the newest Alpha version of the mod manager. There's a link to it on the mod's page, in the FAQ section. He also says that some older mods may not work with it, depending on what they edit. So I'd say run it on its own first. Then add in other mods after to see if they work.
