A large part of this land out at the viewpoint once belonged to a big movie director named David O. Selznick. Later there was a home and place for people to stay for a vacation. Then it became a place and live in school for troubled teens and teens in trouble.

The fire fighters did such hard work, building that firebreak! Thanks to all of them too!

My MIL and FIL lived in Running Springs a long time ago and we all had Christmas there. Of course it snowed. We did visit an animal sanctuary that was nice. When grandpas health got worse, they moved down the mountain, but their hearts stayed in Running Springs.

There is some good news about the weather forecast. It's going to be high humidity and cooler temps in the day and night with more mild winds. This will be very good for firefighting crews. Containment should be over 20% today and they are making impressive progress. It's obviously still a dynamic situation but these firefighters are doing great work and seem to be making great strides now.

Lucky? You don’t know how lucky! I’m full time RV guy and just don’t a couple weeks on Keller Peak Road behind the Mudic Camp. I did a lot of hiking and I told CDF that place is like a tinderbox. It’s buried in raw fuel that needs to be burned out by conservation corp or somebody. The fact the flames didn’t make the “pond” is a miracle. I also have a video where you can hear a marching band playing Stars and Stripes Forever but can’t see the orchestra for the trees. That sounds like Music Camp
