I'm pretty sure there's more to this story much of which is the fact that she was left alone to raise the kids while Russell went off and lived the life of a star making movies and allegedly getting up to mischief, apparently he didn't spend alot of time with his wife and kids at that time, so the couple drifted apart.

Crowe got done by a narcissist, pure and simple. He wasted an awful lot of time on her. This is cringe worthy stuff! She's clearly knocking the dance partner, classic triangulation. He ended up on 60 smokes a day and overweight. She nearly killed the poor sod.

Russell seems very hurt. Its showing in his eyes. Danielle ia focussing all her attention awkwardly towards the kids. She didn't stand side by side with Russell, he kept rubbing his hand on Charlie's back unusually shows his nervousness, trying to hide his anxiety. Russell loved Danielle alot and has been jealous, only god knows how much hurt he is on the preposition of Danielle having a fling with her dance partner. Right when he enters he doesn't seem to be all excited and vibing to surprise a loving wife, but instead seems very tense and hurt as if he has come there with kids to remind Danielle that "there's the father of your two kids, whom you r still married to,exists."

Either this woman is embarrased to show her emotions, or she is not happy to see him. I know one shouldn´t judge other people, because you dont know what´s going on in their minds. The disappointment on her face is so telling. She is so cold towards Russell & even slightly distant towards her children. We will never know what goes on between a couple, but she could have shown a little more affection. He, obviously, adores her and it is so clear that the love has gone for her.
