Thank you so much this clarify a lot for me
@@KTD888 I'm so glad! If you have any questions, let me know. I'm happy to do a follow up episode.
I’m so used to hearing about cognitive empathy in relation to “dark empaths” or “covert narcissism” as means to demonize people who just interpret emotional input differently. As if there is only one way correct way to empathize. So thank you so much for describing it with so much care, consideration, and legitimacy. ✨Subscribed ✨
@@miciahenderson7425 thank you for subscribing! I'm so glad it resonated. There is a lot of misinformation out there that makes it harder for us to connect. Thank you for letting me know that this explanation was helpful.
Is it possible to be all three? I have been all of these people at different times in my life. I'd probably still be doing it if it didn't literally kill me at thirty three years old. I had a rare and deadly coronary dissection that led me to flatline and have a near death experience. I chose to go back but life as I knew it was over. the world I went back to was unfamiliar and hostile. After i was left penniless and disabled I started to research my now ex husband's diagnosis. Antisocial Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder illuminated years of hidden abuse and confusion. That was twenty years ago, and my life is still impacted daily by the hidden abuse and resulting complex trauma symptoms.
@@EveningTV thank you for sharing your experience. Culturally we do not talk about complex trauma enough, which makes it easy for many to assume they are alone in their experience. Thank you for your willingness to share and be vulnerable. Healing does take time. And while it sounds like you’re on your healing journey, I think to remind you that when we have been the victim of another’s actions, is easy to judge ourselves. But his treatment of you is about him. Keep healing. Keep moving forward. And keep blessing others through your example of endurance and vulnerability. Sending you love and light as you continue to heal mentally, emotionally, and physically. If you would like to talk more, feel free to reach out.❤️
Love from Sikkim ❤

Very interesting perspective on how to have space both for our negative feelings and gratitude! Sent it to my 15 year old sister because it ties nicely into things that we have been talking about

@@iw9338 here’s to growth! That’s awesome!
Wow, thank you for sharing your wisdom. I recently tried this exercise; obviously, relationships are more complex and it is just to bring awareness. :) "When I am with this person, I feel ______. After our interactions, my energy level is ___ out of 10." Very interesting stuff came from this!!
@@christine4269 I’m so glad you found it helpful! And I’m super curious what came up for you! Did it bring up gratitude? Or did it spark the need for change?
I stumbled upon this video but I needed to see it! I am fairly new in my city, and while I have made some friends, I am definitely the one who offers help or organizes a get together. But very little is actually returned to me. My friends are good people, but they are definitely not as tuned in to people’s needs as I am. It is frustrating and can be very hurtful at times.
@@alicat207 I am so glad you are here! We need initiators, like you, in this world! It is such a gift! AND it’s ok to get your needs met as well. Are there people in your life you can ask for support? What happens when you do?
@ Yes, I have a husband and family nearby. I could get help from a friend or two as well if I needed it. I just seem to be the most thoughtful empath type in the group! 😁
I'm that way! I always think. If I don't do it (for others) nobody is going to do it. Everybody says I'm the best host. When I was younger it wouldn't matter, now my health has deteriorated, I'm burned out, sunk in debt and sad that there are no more people who care for others. This world would be better. Thank you for your video. It's true what you said.
@@claudiagutierrez2845 first of all, thank you for being a light in this world. We need more people like you! Secondly, it’s so true that the burnout is real. We can’t pour from an empty cup and it can be a challenge at times to get our own needs met. You are not alone!
@maryannwalkerlife Thank you for your response.
this woman emma have a big illusion.we are in a world of selfishes.she think that all are capables to love like she and have her capacities.many peoples, a part be selfishes are not capables to give or are stealers. opportunists or profiters, or want all giving nothing, or for they all is exigible or are greedy and attached to their things like to their sh.t.not all are good, many are malvages or narcisists and calculators
@@pierre931 you’re right. There are many in this world with ill intent. The best we can do is stand firm in our conviction to be the good in this world and opt out of relationships with those that rob us of our peace. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you so much for this. It's been a challenge for me to navigate respecting people's feelings and holding myself accountable while also being unsure how to deal with someone who exploits what should be positive and assertive respect. This helps so much!
I'm so glad you found it helpful! It's taken me a long time to see it... and sometimes I still need the reminder that I don't have to tolerate others mistreatment of me.....even if I understand why they are the way they are. I plan to create more content on this subject, so stay tuned!
Great walk through on this. I was just pondering how to show up with empathy and boundaries at the same time. They sometimes feel at odds if you’re not sure how to verbalize support and strength at the same time!
So true! It can be a real struggle to find a balance that feels honoring and authentic. I'm glad it resonated!

The hero role is often taken by people who enjoy controlling others and feeling powerful, as well. This conversation is helpful but overall this subject is far more complex than this conversation conveys. Many predators begin their sinister process in a hero role.
SO true! It's impossible to cover all the nuance of this in one conversation. Because of that, I'm going to make this part of a series on the drama triangle & empowerment dynamic. I hope you will subscribe and participate in the conversation! I value your insight!
Such a beautiful and needed reminder. Thank you! ❤

Compassionate curiosity... Indifference it's a wonderful thing in a partnership in relationship....
