These are the worst reasons to go to university. Young people are being deluded. Unless you need to become a doctor, pharmacist or engineer, you don't need to go to university. You're better off working and learning on the job. You can always pursue further studies alongside a job, as there are many options out there.

Thank you for this video. I wish I had the agency and or the ability to execute and communiate my current situation during my adolescence for what I would like to do with my life profession-wise/passion-wise. I wish I had pursued social work even if only at a college level, saying that with no connotation, not implying that university is conclusively "better" at all. I wish I had the agency to communicate that I knew with certainty that my parents were going to "end" each other, while not fearing having my family dismantled by child services. I wish I had known all the posturing within my family household, especially parentally were all posturing and weren't any threats with any substance of those individuals ever being able to or having the will to act upon those threats. I am 32 now with a uni and college degree either from universities that I knew were not my style, being too full of non canadian-cultured immigrants (saying that with no connotation, but I know that as a teen I wasn't a purely academic beast-machien like other east asians may be, and that is the kind of population of student that my university catered to and my mother forced me to go there and robbed me of my agency in life) then later I was forced to get a college degree in something that my father prefered himself in his life. I received half a post-university degree for something called drug regulatory affairs which I also did not use. Now I realize the entire 18 year period from the beginning of high school till now from '04 to '22 doing my high school, uni, post uni and college degree's were objectively all a complete waste of time in terms of honouring who I am intrinsically as a person. I am envious of these men in social work, I can only imagine if my life had gone that route and if I had learned to politically advocate for my identiy using my right side briain openmindedly and ignoring my leftside objective brain which adds to my stress and attitude of melancholy towards life as per my extreme marginalization ethnically and culturally, being a literally very unique person myself. Thanks for the vid again, I can only imagine what it would be like being in the shoes of these males/men in social work. May the light shine with you when it can

When I go to college....I'm choosing the one where I live at. I'm 15 and I obey my mom to the max, she is the one that is in total control. Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give her my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing. On the weekends, I do want she wants me to do, Before I have my "Free time" So therefore....me going to college here....let's me be able to continue to serve my mom!

@@emmelinaa Hi Em! No....I'm not exaggerating at all. BUT....yes I do have time to "myself " ...my mom works...and I go to school....then when I get home. I'm alone from 3ish till 7ish, when she gets home. I do, Do these things because I want to....my mom had never forced or demanded me to do or act how I act! She works everyday and she works hard to provide everything we have, so this is just a VERY small thing I do for her, anything less wouldn't be right. But I appreciate your comment! :-)
