I just bought these and realized the first thing that needs to be done with these models is to fill the gaps of the cloak with putty
They also have a lot of hidden areas. I found that sub-assembly worked if you want to get paint on everything.

1:42:06 I am having the same issue you are! There is a HUGE gap between that head and the chest pieces and I don't know why.
Welcome to GW. I just cut it up to fit and used Greenstuff to fill it in.
After a nightmare i found with this issue too. There is a way to put it in a certain angle and just apply force...and it will fit in with 0 gaps no glue needed. literally the worst experience i have ever had but im glad im finished with this lizards
I think you did a great job painting! But there’s one lore issue… all the salamanders are supposed to have pitch black skin due to their planet’s atmosphere and probably proximity to the sun. However, I really like how you designed the model with the old school shoulder.

I don't remember but I think it was Kroxigor Scales contrast painted over a leadbelcher base.

Testing the waters, and uploading finished miniatures to have something on the channel. Will soon be doing "how I paint my miniatures" breaking each section in to shorts so that people can better understand how it is done.
