knowing league lore this is unlikely but i deeply wish it were true. jinx seeing cait save vander (for the moment) and fight with her instead of against her really should be a heart tugging moment for her. in my mind and in a perfect world cait vi jinx vander silco sevika and isha all live together as one big happy family.

This sounds nice, but i don't know if if it would actually be possible. For one, it's possible that Jinx is so heartbroken after isha's death, and so angry with vi for holding her back from helping, that she might leave or lash out or something like that. But them all being happy together would be nice to see

Oh absolutely! Episode 5 especially was something else, and Isha's death was so well executed. Also, when I saw ?Maddie and Cait together literally two minutes in, i was in shock for a while 😅

At least, I think that's what it was, I'm not much good with tech. Which is surprising, considering I'm part of GenZ, who (as everyone keeps telling me) are obsessed with technology. Sorry anyways

Imo, even more interestingly than that though, one thing they always go on about in English is how Lady M is constantly emasculating macbeth and how she makes him commit regicide etc. It's quite interesting because this seems like it will be the exact same, with Ambessa being like LM, and Cait being the macbeth figure, being sorta manipulated by LM, so she can get her way!

I think naratively she WOULD have missed. Her shot of Jinx's finger is technically a miss. Vi is ducked down in the grapple and there's a clear shot at Jinx's head, but the narrative does not "reward" her for shooting for revenge. She hits the gun out of Isha's hand because she was shooting to protect, so the narrative rewards her aim. I think it all boils down to "what are you shooting for?"

No, Jinx endured trauma after trauma at critical stages of development, lived in fear of Piltover enforcers, the people that took her parents, gone to bed hungry and lived in a city that was top sides dumping ground. all caused by the caused by the councils casual indifference. Add in being raised by a revolutionary/drug dealer that encouraged violence as a means of conflict resolution and she couldn't turn out any other way. Also I might add she likely didn't know the council was in the chamber. It was the middle of the night. In comparison Cait comes from a life of privilege, wanted for nothing and never lived in fear. And her first taste of loss sets her on this path? Despite Vi's words of Jinx orphanimg children I can't recall a single child that was orphaned as a result of Jinx's actions. Did she mean Cait the adult enforcer? Also only one of was willing to end a child to achieve their goal. Only one of them is currently allied with a war monger that is responsible for the deaths of thousands and personally ended children that might pose a threat her rule. Jinx is a mentally ill individual that never got the help she needed. Caitlyn is just a monster.

I completely disagree with this statement. This is not a trauma competition but saying Cait is a monster is plain ignorant of her entire story. Just for a moment, put yourself in Cait situation. In the finale of the first season, she had Jinx at gun point, but due to Vi insistent that she can still salvage Powder, Cait hesitated to shoot which leads to half the council and her mother dead. I don't think anyone could live with that guilt, knowing you could have saved your family if you had just pulled that trigger. With that, I think Vi interfering with Cait shot feels like a betrayal to Cait and her anger is completely justified. The rifle was such a precise weapons and Cait is a very competent shot, otherwise that child would already have lost her hand when Cait shot the gun away. And Vi, instead of making the shot clearer by separating the child from Jinx, decides that she should instead gave Jinx the chances to slither away again and muddle with Cait shot. I cannot imagine the guilt, the anger of knowing you could have prevented your mother's death, of knowing you could have got vengeance for your parent. To add salt to the wound, both of your attempts were botched by the person you love and trust. I do not condone some of Cait's actions (ie using lethal chemical weapons on raids). She's not a saint, but to say she's a angry bloodthirsty human just mean that you missed her story entirely. tldr: Cait is not a saint, nor a devil. She's very human and does not deserve all the hate

The video was just explaining her actions and as I'll always say explanation does not equal excuse. They were just saying that if you hate Caitlyn because of her actions then you have to hate Jinx too. Both were forced into what they have become by trauma, poor emotional environment to process said trauma, their own mentalities twisting their circumstances and manipulation from other people. They literally are meant to parallel each other. In the end its people who betrayed themselves because that was the only way to process anything in their heads.

I think it's moreover the fact of the hypocrisy from the fandom this was made. People seem to understand other characters complexities, but not others. The whole point in the show is that there's no "good" or "bad" sides. It's war and everyone is f-ing it up, because humans are flawed. The question is why is Caitlyn getting the most hate? Yes, she responsible for her actions, does it make her evil? No. The same way Jinx is responsible, but not evil. I've seen something good in every character, but I've also seen a hell of a lot bad too. Caitlyn is going down a dark path and I do hope for redemption as I'm still holding out hope for Jinx. But it makes no sense that Jinx gets a green pass and not Caitlyn, that's the hypocrisy, they are going down the same path only Jinx started earlier. They make the characters likable then pull them down a dark path. When do people differentiate between too far gone and still redeemable? Usually it's subjective to one's own morals, values and priorities. I like to give people chances, having hope, the benefits of doubt, I wanna understand, other may like it simple "they did something bad, they are bad, gonna stay bad", but that's how hate is formed. This is a really good show and it really shows the mindset of people and their actions. It's meant to be complex, make you feel things and question everything. I don't think arcane is made for those people who want a flawless character, because everyone is in this show.

Whilst i see your point, I also have to disagree. As @lv1123 said, one of the things annoyed me about how Caitlyn's arc was received was how much criticism she received, compared to a character like Jinx. And while Jinx/Powder has plenty of reasons to hate Piltover, and everyone around here, she still commits some really terrible crimes in season 1. Caitlyn, however, while she makes a few wrong decisions, and endangers the life of a child (an act which I understand is hard to come back from) but what I'm trying to say is that, unlike a lot of people would like to suggest, Caitlyn also has lots of reasons to act in this way. it's not just trauma, it's all the shit that has happened to her in the last couple of days, which leaves her in an absolute state. I do see where you're coming from to some extent though, but I couldn't agree.

She doesn’t see herself as being evil. She sees herself as being the only person strong enough to keep everyone safe and make the hard choices. No believes they are evil in their own story.

Tbh, I see an argument for both sides but I do have to say that I think it's a hallucination. The main reason for that is because in the same clip we see Vi having what is undoubtedly a hallucination, but of Caitlyn, so she's most likely seeing Jinx in her mind as well. It could be real though, but I do doubt it, seeing as we also got a definite hallucination of Caitlyn in the same scene. Thanks btw, I hugely appreciate the comment, and your feedback :)

I definetely agree with that. My dad pointed this out, but in ep 1 of season 2, we see cait literally shoot the SCREWS off of the chemtech robots, which were moving pretty quick. I think that she wouldn't have missed and I think that's a great point that Vi just stopped her because she realized that revenge was blinding cait.

Thanks, and I fully agree. Caitlyn is a great shot, but we also know what Vi didn't really want to kill Jinx at all, and I think that was also part of what was going on in her head in that moment. Such a shame how things ended up turning out 😢

I was curious about this too. Isha is squeezing Jinx tightly after Caitlyn disarms her. Isha's body is off-center and it puts both her torso and head behind Jinx's. If Caitlyn attempts any kind of fatal shot on Jinx from where she's at, that kid is dead. In that moment, Caitlyn was probably going to do it too which is... rough. Caitlyn is probably my favorite character in this show and man she is getting put through the wringer.

Thanks for subscribing, and the comment :). Yeah the pacing is an issue, but with Isha, I honestly just didn't get why she was there? She turned up out of nowhere as Jinx's sidekick, and did nothing, other than kinda messing everything at the end, by jumping on Jinx (although that was quite powerful, and interesting, seeing how much she already loved Jinx and would have done anything to protect her). I have no doubt she will be pretty important in the rest of the season though, with her even having her own song for the show. Can't wait to see what happens to her character though, and the role she'll play.

@@TheDarthSauron I think a good way to view her is that Jinx is a parallel to Silco. From Silco's POV, Powder was a random kid for whom he became responsible for because he saw himself in her. granted, Isha meeting Jinx is more coincedental but I assume the kid is an orphan who latched onto her for protection.

Oh yes, I saw that pillar detail on a twitter post a couple days ago! Just goes to show how much effort is put into these scenes, that 10 minutes analyzing a couple minutes of one scene still is nowhere near enough to grasp the brilliance and beauty of it.

In a sense you could call it karma. Even though what Powder was handling was incredibly dangerous substance on her bombs, she probably never expected it to be more powerful than the jagged, imperfect hexcore crystals. Her theory with her gadgets led her to her family to die to her hands.

Nah I disagree. I'm confident it'll get much better in act 2 and 3, and act 1 has been very good as well, even better than s1 in some areas. Remember, Act 1's main job was recovering from everything that happened in the last episode with the missile. Trust me, it's gonna get much better I'm confident

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. I literally made a video on season 2 yesterday, and I honestly found very few things to be negative about. Sure, the pacing is very fast, and characters aren't as fleshed out, but this first act was just recovering from all the shit that went down at the end of s1 with the missile and the council room. Plus, the ending to epsiode 3 was brilliant in every respect. Caitlyn and Vi are still very well written. I sorta get what you're saying with Heimedinger, but his storyline with Ekko and the corrupted hexcore (not sure the exact terminology) is quite interesting imo.

Haven't watched it in a while but it was literally an obsession when it first came out 😅

Watching the video on a different account, there isn't any twitching, but certain videos are blurry. The Hobbit clips are fine, I think it's mainly the Harry Potter/lotr ones because they're so old 🤷‍♂️
