This is my own design, sorry for no audio.
Where do you get all the stuff you need for this and other builds ? Can you please tell me ? Like the custom stuff , sound
@brianmoretti6480 my first build used a PFx brick from Fx bricks. I now use blunami sound decoders made by soundtraxx. I get them from lifelites.com since this website also has other products that make the install much easier and more compatible with lego products.
Although it’s very cool I’d rather just go spend 2000 bucks and buy the set in O scale !! You gotta have tons of money in this and a lot more then 2000
@brianmoretti6480 to each their own. This is my hobby and lego trains offer a lot more versatility in setup and user friendly interfaces. Plus I enjoy the challenge of designing and building models that I can display as my own rather than just buying one. As for cost I have no idea how you came to that conclusion, but it's a lot less than buying a Lionel O scale model
I checked Rebrickable but nothing but Acela and F117A. Do you have plans for your other trains at any other location or possibly directly from you? Thanks, Spencer
@SpencerSmith-z4o hi Spencer, I'm in the process of drafting instructions for several models. I'd like to preface this by saying that this is very much a hobby for me so I only work on it when I have time or motivation. That being said, yes I would like to eventually release more instructions but I've had issues in the past with people stealing my models. The trains specifically are also difficult to put into instructions due to a lot of the trial and error that went into modeling them. There's a lot of 3rd party components that makes it difficult to explain in depth for someone who might want lights and sound vs someone who just wants a display piece. A lot goes into it that has severely delayed instructions, however, I do want to release instructions once I am happy with the result. In the meantime definitely check out Brick Train Depot and Brick Model Railroader for some awesome instructions from other designers in the lego train community
@@michaelruzzi31 Thank you Michael! I will look forward to building your models in the future.
Now this is impressive
Make the big boy 4014 plz
Hello, are you still going to make the instructions for this available for purchase? 3985 is my favorite locomotive and this model is incredible.
For the light up boards section did you place the sicker on the transparent tile or did you have it printed on
@legorailroader3481 it's a sticker on a transparent tile
Give it to me
can you give an update by chance on the instructions?
Honestly, speachless. What a fantastic build. Hope you win the competition, cause you ABSOLUTELY deserve it. ~How much were the price of the bricks?
This is amazing! I love it! Do you have bullied ing instructions for it?
I need this in my life
Saaammmemeeeee
@@TheGs4_4449 ikr, the Southern Pacific “Daylight” is my favorite locomotive of all time.
where can i find instructions?
Nice train.
instructions are not on your rebrickable page.
Incredible work, as all your models are! I've seen a few other Lego locomotive builders who made their models available for purchase, but the price for one particular locomotive was about $2,500. That's what the new Vision Line Big Boy costs. I have no idea why it would cost that much, but I'm sure there's a good reason why.
You did such a good job! I'd love to have an L-gauge layout with engines like yours running on it one day.
i cant comprehend how much detail has gone into this model! absolutly adore this and its inspired me to give a crack at making my own! amazing model dude cant wait to see more
Ima need to know how you made this
fun fact the version you made of SOUTHERN PACIFIC 4449 IS THE WHITE WHEEL TRIM ITS WHEN STEAM locomotive have white rings on its wheels she only had its for a year though in 1981.
You should try some lights from brickloot
You can take the smoke deflectors off, right?
Yes
Nice. Great model as well, I just prefer 3985 without smoke deflectors.
Question where did you get the sound effect files like the chugging?
All sound files are already installed in the blunami DCC sound decoder. Desired whistles, bells, chugging, etc. can then be selected in the blunami app
@@michaelruzzi31 Thanks! Impressive work! You know anyone that makes custom rods and joints like you do?
@tylerpeck8047 I commissioned @mackbrickslegomodels on Instagram to design and print these detailed driving rods specifically for this model. You can buy general train rods from trainedbricks.square.site/
Thanks for the info, I’m in the same boat as you. I want that extra detail, not that generic off the shelves rods.
I’m also looking for a custom front head lamp as well.
That.... ....is an insanely nice build.
lego should hire you, you do a better job at designing lego trains than the designers at lego
How can I gwt into this hobby? Very fascinated! Love the 70mac!
Thank you! I'd recommend the program Stud.io to design models digitally. If you're not looking to design stuff on your own you can buy instructions for other people's models on Rebrickable, brick train depot, or brick model railroader as some great places to get started on custom lego trains
@@michaelruzzi31 Great information. Thank you! I'm a seasoned model railroader, however this looks to be a refreshing take on modeling. What scale roughly is this?
@@tropicalties3806 roughly O scale. 1:48
@@michaelruzzi31 Very good, thank you. Happy New Year's 🎉🥳
How much did this cost you?
The sounds are the horn of a gevo and the engine of a geep or sd-40 but it looks incredible
Best steam train is right omg!!!!!
Wow. Great build. I'm attempting to build something like a E6 or E7, but the windows are tricky. I'm trying to figure out what pieces you used for the front windscreen here.
I used 1x2x2 Trans clear panels with red electrical tape cut to the desired window shape placed over top of the panel. I have since switched to a resin printed F7 windshield from Brick Train Depot. I definitely recommend it!
Hello
That's freaking awesome it looks too realistic it look just like the Southern Pacific Daylight 4449 Locomotive i love it!!!!! Then if is that Can you make Pere Marquette 1225 Berkshire Locomotive? I will really love to see you make one for the next video upload!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
Also, where do you get that large diameter track?
Bricktracks or trixbrix
Hi Michael, These are gorgeous! How do I buy these MOC locomotives for my son?
This is awesome! post the instructions plzzz, I would buy
Beautiful build ❤ I love the fog machine idea! So creative! I never thought about trying to incorporate it to a Lego set. I pre ordered the Union Pacific Big Boy set from PNW steam shop, it would be so cool if I could add the fogger to it!
Add bilevel Coach for the P42......
For the lights, you may want to find a way to run them as parallel circuits rather than a series circuit. That way each light would receive a more even current. The only issue is that you'd have to have a separate wire for each car and an additional one to finish the entire loop.
I love it
well did you win.
How did you make the bogies with 3 axles?
Middle axle is blind and undriven while the outer axles are flanged and driven by a motor and gears
Michael could you please do a video discussing DCC for Lego trains or perhaps share a link. Are you using battery power for your locomotives? Just getting started and absolutely love your MOCS. Cheers
Why the heck doesn't Lego put out sets like this. Incredible!
To complex, non official parts, and how much money it would cost. 😃
Gorgeous!
Super easy
A TRAIN!!!!!!
You should try some lights from brickloot
This is incredible! What kind of mind does it take to design and build a motorized LEGO Challenger?! Very impressive.
Id love to see a breakdown of everything you used from batteries to lights and decoder and how you ran everything
_Hhooohhhhhhhhhh_ My _Goooodddd._ *it's beautiful* edit: AFXSGBTKSPSB YOU MADE A MATCHING RAKE OF COACHES FOR IT?!?
