Judy Kuhn is a multiple Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award nominee best known for her work on Broadway in such shows as Fun Home, Chess and Les Misérables. She sang the title role in Disney’s Pocahontas, including her rendition of “Colors of the Wind,” which won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for “Best Original Song.” In addition to her work on stage, film and television, Judy has appeared on concert stages around the world including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall. She has recorded four solo albums: "Just in Time: Judy Kuhn Sings Jule Styne;" "Rodgers, Rodgers & Guettel;" "All This Happiness;" and "Serious Playground: The Songs of Laura Nyro."

Humana r so selfish n greedy they watch this movie at any age and still support cutting down trees, killing nature just so another road highway hotel can get build. It got me when I was a teen …I’m alive so I’m already consuming the earth but I do my best not to support killing the earth n the vulnerable lives fox bear raccoons etc who live there. Hate rodeos hate seeing another building build where there were trees grass …another lane on highways killing trees that were there. Human overpopulation=earth murder
Her voice was perfect for Pocahontas. I know the woke people are probably upset that Pocahontas wasn't voiced by a Native American. However Disney actually set out to try to cast a Native American for the role but when they heard they knew she was it. Shouldn't all casting be done that way? Not be based on whether we are white or coppered skin :)

How does one voice have so many qualities?
Judy Kuhn have to honor the Disney Legend award and handprints for the singing voice of Pocahontas from Disney's American musical historical adventure fantasy romantic comedy drama film Pocahontas.
That woman deserves so much more as far as awards and acclamation for what she put into that movie than what she got! Her voice is unmatched! I cry almost every time I hear the songs from Pocahontas!
What a stroke of genius for the Disney folks to have this talented woman be the singing voice for the movie Pocahontas. NO ONE would/could have been better. Vanessa Williams’ voice is nice, but doesn’t hold a candle to Judy Kuhn’s rendition of Colors of the Wind.

Heard her sing Vanilla Ice Cream while researching She Loves Me after seeing the revival. I thought to myself, this girl sounds like a Disney princess...she’s got to be one.

This lady made Pocahontas come to life when I was little and I will forever love her for all of the love she put into Pocahontas which made me love Pocahontas even more. I was forever singing Pocahontas songs when I was little

This cast recording is incredible. I'm sure everyone seeing this video already knows, but I just wanted to put that out there into the world, since I don't know many people in real life who have heard it and I listen to it pretty much every day.

What a wonderful voice! I haven't seen Pocahontas since the 1990's and am watching it now and I'm moved like I was way back then by how clear and beautifully this lady can sing! MY FAVORITE of all the Disney female singers through the years. Just great!

Ikr? When I first saw the movie and heard the song I really thought Judy was a Native American but when I googled her she looked nothing like it! Don't get me wrong, I didn't judge her, I was just very shocked. Anyway it just shows that a person's voice isn't all there is to him or her. We really can't judge how a person looks just by hearing his or her voice. Haha. Still, I'm glad they picked her! :)
There's no such thing as sounding Native American. Their tones and dialects are just as diverse as anyone else.

Pocahontas was my favourite film growing up and I've seen both the Dutch version (my native tongue) and the English version.. and both your and Pia Douwes's voices are pretty much my childhood of the 90s :)
