Добавлен 15 май 2020
Harbor Trinity is local church based in Costa Mesa, California. Our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus.
HTC25: Find & Follow
Speaker: Shane Costa
Scripture: Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 19:16-22
In September of 1955, Harbor Trinity Church began. For 70 years, Harbor Trinity has existed to raise up mature disciples who intentionally help people find and follow Jesus. "Find and Follow" is the most identifiable part of our mission statement and foundational to being a Christian. While simple, what does that mean for us and our church in 2025?

Amen! God is our source!
@sarahelizabeth6005 our source who is infinite and limitless!
gods...lol grow up.
@toastedcheesesandwiches "grow up" is one way to summarize this portion of the Bible. Well done. 👏🏻
Please explain what you mean… if you can.
@@brycebraxmeyer5539 I just did.
Or maybe you should not be a pastor. 99% of churches are failing because of pastors not doing their duty. Teaching like Jesus Christ wanted you to teach.😢
@@chinini401 this is from a message entitled, “Raise Up Mature Disciples.” Definitely what Jesus would want to be taught. The misuse of this text in reference to preaching remains.
@harbortrinity This is my belief in my heart . If you think you are right. There is not much anybody can do.
@@chinini401 there are a number of factors that contribute to a church failing. Some are within the control of the pastor, some are within the control of the, some are beyond both. We are grateful to be a part of a church where the Bible is preached, people are baptized, and disciples are made. We hope you are a part of one as well.
What version pf the bible is this??
texas bbq?
Great question, @knightzero2489. We primarily use the English Standard Version (ESV). It is an "essentially literal" English translation.
@DavidStowers-o7k we prefer Kansas City. 😯
Amen Praise, Glorify and Trust God Our Lord and Saviour, His Love for us is so magnificent and abundant. We must show our Love for Him in return by obedience to Him following His perfect example of righteousness and repent of our sins. Amen

@@hurricane2053 the heart of this short. Another great reference.
Evangelicals have destroyed religion and when they vote for a criminal, gods not on their side at all!
@sfl6307 intriguing response to this video. You should watch more from our Kingdoms & Kings series. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Hebrew style was short cropped. The anglo pictures of limp wristed, effete looking were not isogogically correct.
@@jackiepowell7513 thankfully the church has extended beyond the Mishnah and Talmud writings of the post-exile community.

@@DanielBatac-v2k short is relative. No measurements are included in the passage your referenced. Another point you conveniently overlooked is 1 Corinthians 11:16.
@harbortrinity the topic is about hair...we must believe or obey what Jesus Christ told to us....if you believe in His teachings
@@DanielBatac-v2k the speaker has a short haircut. Could it be shorter? Sure. Short is relative. “Long” is in reference to the hair of women. No region of the world or history would define his hairstyle as “long.”
Why are the "born again" people are the worst people in the world to people who do not believe in their specific fairytale?
@HITMANPegas we’re sorry to hear that his has been your experience. This is one aspect our church is proactively amending. At least in Costa Mesa, California.
@harbortrinity I hope you preach about love and care, and not about hate and fear.
@@HITMANPegas I would say that is a defining theme of our preaching. Would love to hear your thoughts if you have a chance to view any of our messages.
@@harbortrinity I don't know about your preaching in particular. But people like Kat Kerr, Kenneth Copeland , Jerry Falwell, Joel Osteen, Greg Locke, Creflo Dollar, and the rest.
@@HITMANPegas it is certainly true that many preachers use their platforms in negative ways. We are hopeful this has not been true of us. You're welcome to join us online or in-person to discern for yourself.

I don't like long hours forced to be standing . This has nothing to do with being a great employee. Many tasks could be done seated. but then 8 days standing all the time , the whole week, month and year. Who will pay for all this knee, feet damages?? The one that needs to be standing all the time, with swoling and burning feet. Many tasks can be done with high chairs. at least needs to be an option for workers
@BravoMentorianaAmerica welcome to the conversation/channel. Your point is certainly true. Though there is much about this that can be determined by employer preferences. One of the benefits is the ability to find another; the difficulty can be feeling stuck in one.

One of my favorite songs
@marycaro2266 so glad! 🙌
Where in the Bible does it say this foolishness
@lilnissan4082 we included that in the description. Revelation 3:20 says it plainly. The testimony of the disciples (described as untrained, ordinary men in Acts 4:13) reveals this. This message is speaking to Colossians 1:15-23 and what we can know about God and how God has revealed Himself.
@@harbortrinity😂 I'm so sorry but you shoot yourself in the foot with Colossians and Acts. There were saying that the ppl thought what they were preaching was foolishness. Not that these fake who went to somebodys college knew anything about God .Romans 10:14-15 (KJV) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
@@harbortrinitySecondly Acts 2:38 is the only way we in this dispensation can be saved. Read the book of Faith.
@lilnissan4082 foolishness is not how Peter and John are described in Acts 4:13. "When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized they had been with Jesus." This is from the highest level of Jewish teachers (priests, captain of the temple, Sadducees, rulers, elders, and scribes) and would fall in the same dispensation as your view. The point being, knowledge of God is not reserved for anyone but is available to everyone.
@@harbortrinity point I'm getting at Is how he is saying it, smh. As if these preachers who are in a college (for preaching) know anything about God. Many are called, few are chosen. It's called his elected for a reason 😂
He came back in 70 ad . just like he said he would. Hallelujah
Thanks for your comment, @darrolmcgraw7969. Welcome to the channel/conversation. There are some who hold this viewpoint (preterism). To fully believe this is outside of Orthodox Christian views, and have a different timeline for the Olivet Discourse and book of Revelation.
Amen!
Thanks, @MelAnneColly. 🙌
God’s will is to be done on earth as it is in heaven. His word is eternal. In heaven there is no sickness, no pain, no sorrow, no politics, no rude people etc. we all should pray those words and have faith in HIS WILL❤

Daniel probably had nasty farts, just polite enoigh to do them alone at home.
@elderterdkin2515 and to that, we tip the cap to him. No complaint, no fault, no error. Not even that one.

@ambergarciano98 one encounter with Jesus can change everything. 🙌
Daniel Knew who he was, because he knew whose he was ❤❤❤❤❤
@aliciarenouf3095 it's one of the lines that stick with you.
What if you are willing to go through it with them because you won't abandon your people
Self preservation will make you send your people packing
@Btrthanvr-b1f definitely a reasonable thought. I think we have found there are limits to that statement. Unless there is a greater principle guiding the sacrifice, most people are unwilling to make it. In this case, that same decision was made over and over again for the same reason (belief in the resurrected Jesus).
Amen
@Trulyblessed-w3j 🙌🙏🙌
jesus christ betrayed me once but I will not allow him to betray me twice
@GODISANARCISSIST sorry to hear of your experience. Many of us have felt the same way at certain points in time. There are certainly moments that time allows us to have a different (and thankful) perspective. Others require the support of community to process. We are here for you.
I think this is a simplistic view of it all. God gives power to people to make their own choices, and that means tyrants have the power to steal elections or terrorize their own citizens. Those tyrants were not chosen by God to rule over those people. God could make things happen, and I'm sure sometimes he does, but generally speaking, I believe that rather than making things happen, he allows things to happen.
Welcome to the channel/conversation, @jackgunn1480. This clip is taken from the book of Daniel. It cannot get much more tyrannical than King Nebuchadnezzar. Each of the chapters point to God's sovereignty over the kingdoms of men (including the kingdoms of the Babylonians, Medes, and Persians). The American Christian call in our Babylon is the same.
@@harbortrinity But Nebuchadnezzar had a role to play in the story of Israel. Modern day tyrants, such as Castro and Maduro do not. Do you believe that God chose to bring those men to power?
@jackgunn1480 God is always accomplishing His redemptive purposes. This can be evidenced in Rome, Byzantine, Germany, England, Spain, etc.
@@harbortrinity it sounds like you're suggesting that God is directing the politics of nations. That would nullify free will, wouldn't it?
@jackgunn1480 that's a great and worthy question. We covered this recently in a video title "Summer Series 24: Sovereignty of God." Knowing the outcome/destination and forcing decisions are two different things. There are plenty of choices that are within boundaries and many aspects of our human experience affirm this.
This is fatalism, not biblical. We trust in God's sovereignty while following Romans 13 and VOTING while trusting God for the results.
This clip is taken from Daniel 4 and is a part of a series on the book of Daniel. It is a very biblical approach. Your vote matters, go vote, God is still sovereign, and our call remains.
It's 2024

I feel like I'm not worthy of God changing me I am atom drug addict I can't get this s*** right and God just has given up on me which I totally do not blame him for it
We understand that feeling, @moirachiles2105. I think we all have felt that way at one point or another. That is the easiest way to keep us from going to God is to tell us we shouldn't. BUT, this message about King Nebuchadnezzar (one of the worst people in history) and other verses we shared (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9) say that God desires ALL people to be saved no matter what. If Jesus can come back from the dead, He can overcome anything. One of our pastors is in recovery and his story has been an encouragement to many in our church. Hopefully it is an encouragement to you too.

God isn’t real. Your morals and decisions are✌🏼
A worthy point to consider, @snp_king2394. A difficulty arises in subjective views of morality and decision-making. Who chooses the reality or merit beyond self?
The Jewish god is the new kid on the block. I wouldn't listen to him. Too young.
