Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips are a musical duo. Dean fronted the seminal indie Rough Trade band, Galaxie 500, and NYC-based LUNA. Britta joined LUNA as bass guitarist in 2000. Dean & Britta have scored films (Noah Baumbach's THE SQUID & THE WHALE and MISTRESS AMERICA) and released 4 albums together. Their latest release, QUARANTINE TAPES, was recorded at home during the pandemic. As an actor, Dean appears in the Noah Baumbach films, MARRIAGE STORY, FRANCES HA, WHILE WE'RE YOUNG, & MISTRESS AMERICA. Britta also appears in FRANCES HA.
Dean's new album, I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TO THE MAYOR OF LA, will be released October 15, 2021. The first single, THE PAST IS OUR PLAYTHING is out now on all streaming platforms.
