@@bushcraftcostarica808 lol, for sure!
Amazing patience bud. Love watching all your carving projects and how easy you make it look with the woodsman
Thanks bud I've really been enjoying your new videos too!
Well done! Pour over is a fine way to get a cup of that dark delight, g. Thanks for your content and see ya next time ...
Thank you so much!
What beautiful country and always enjoy you sharing your work and locality with us ... BTW, a brave little pooch!!
Thank you, yup she's a trooper and definitely the best dog I've ever had!
Great to see you out and about and the amazing environment around you. Also the start of another project so I can get a Woodsman fix 😂!
I'm glad you are enjoying it bud!
Great training area bud
Thanks bud, I really like it!
Such a beautiful place
Thanks bud, it really is!
Very nice review of your EDC Tuff Possum Gear. Looks like it is holding up quite nicely and still going strong.
Thank you, it's really doing good!
Thank you sincerely for this clear, straightforward, succinct review. I've been researching this bag & really want one, even more now! Thanks again sir. All the best to you & yours.
Thank you so much and I'm glad the video helped, all the best to you and yours as well!
Hey man, we talked a few weeks ago on Reddit! Didn't know you have a channel, I subbed, almost 1k subs 🫡
Awesome, yup it's getting pretty close!
@@bushcraftcostarica808 It is ! There was no money in it for me though. I don't know if you remember but on reddit I told you I was getting back into carving wooden handles because of your tracker pics. I'm no carver by any means, in fact I gave it a try some years ago and had some fails. Now I'm waaaaay better, but still failing :D Carving throwing axes' handles.
@@ARAW-__- very cool!
@bushcraftcostarica808 btw I finished the video, seeing you both work on it and pausing to explain was helpful. I barely could wrap my head around thst 😅
wow the super glue method is a great idea, it came out great looking. have a great day :)
Thanks, I've been using it for several years now and it's done a really good job!
I was soooo hoping you would make a fine carving video, and it’s great! But yer not quite done… earrings for the wife. Easy peasy if she has pierced ears, just need some ear wires!
Dang.... that's a great idea!
That was very well done Jim. All of them look good but I have to say that the last two appeal to me the most. I think they would make very cool “tribal” necklaces if they were on a leather thong. Great job. 👊
Oohhh.... that's a cool idea!
Hot dang man. Hard to wrap my head around how you could have accomplished that until I saw it for myself. You really need to have a vision for that. I love it though, what you’ve accomplished, you sir are a wizard, because this is sorcery. Whole villages were built using one tool. This definitely highlights what can be achieved with will and determination. I appreciate you breaking down the process. Thank you
Thanks bud, I appreciate that. The whole Tracker concept really opened up my eyes to what's possible. However now I need to grow my beard longer and make a cool Gamdalf staff! Lol
@@bushcraftcostarica808 beard and staff are always the answer
Thank you so much for supporting TPG! Loved your review!❤ If any of the pouches fuzzes like that from use you can hold a lighter just close to it and those fuzzies melt away!
That's exactly what I do and thank you so much for making dependable, quality gear!
You’ve put together a good system Jim. I’ve always heard great things about Tuff Possum Gear. 👍
Thanks John, I appreciate it!
Nice review. We are blessed to have a few really good small businesses that hand make canvas/nylon products here in the USA. 👍🇺🇸
Yes we are!
What are the numbered challenges in this list?
It was a challenge on the BCUSA forum that I participated in
Thanks Jim. Really useful to see how keep your Woodsman in hair shaving condition. Some great projects there too.
Thanks Andy!
Great video bud. I love all your sharpening clips you have done on your channel 👍
Thanks m8!
Nice demo of how this needle compass works m8
Thanks bud, you had a great idea!
Very cool. TY for sharing Jim.
You're very welcome!
I carry a SAK huntsman as a EDC,it has a straight pin and a magnet in the knife,if you need a pin or needle and don't have it? I've used that straight pin a lot of times..if you have the room in the scales? Nice mod..
I think the huntsman is my favorite SAK!
Cool project. Just shows how good Kevin's work is.
Absolutely!
I'd keep the needles in the tin rather than modifying the scales, but using the magnet to make a compass is definitely a benefit of the saw guard. Compass is always useful.
Tin is definitely easier access so I'm going to do both, the set in the scales are a backup.
Excellent job Jim! Great modification. 👍
Thanks John, Alex definitely had a good idea!
@@bushcraftcostarica808 You are both dialed in to bushcraft and survival skills.
Cool beans! One could also use the magnet to sort out a wonky compass.
Absolutely!
As you were describing the material before you mentioned it was antler, I was thinking: maybe thorns might work as tines. I was thinking, the drill bit could bore out a socket in the antler that the thorns could be inserted into to form tines. The kinds of thorns I am talking about are thorns of trees and not thorns like in rose bushes. Like citrus trees or lemon trees or orange trees for example
Absolutely, in the Ozarks we had Honey Locust trees that grew thorns capable of puncturing a tire!
@@bushcraftcostarica808they might make good tines, what do you think? Probably not as durable as antler but replaceable
@Traderjoe not as durable but they would definitely work
Fun video! By the way, it’s called an “e-bike”🙂
Cool, thank you!
Amazing work Jim.
Thank you!
Jim that is superb, hats off to ya! I’ve got a mess of deer antler around…
Thanks, you definitely got a blade capable of working them!
Hey sir! Word is my woodsman will be done soon, Lord willin it'll get to me! I've watched a ton of your Woodsmen videos and have spotted several little bits of equipment you’ve used with working with the knife. One I wanted to ask about was a piece of leather that had finger holes in it and I *thought* I remember you doing something else with it, I can’t find the video but do you know what I am referring to?
Awesome and I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! Yup that's a piece I sewed together quite a while back but I still use it. It's here at the 1:50 mark ruclips.net/video/Fkf2m6W3mWQ/видео.htmlsi=bW7LPMNEWRHP4JaS
@@bushcraftcostarica808 That is awesome you found the video and timestamped it for me! Thank you, Ill get to work on putting mine together!

It's definitely my favorite EDC
Yet another cool project. Well done Jim, very impressed with that.
Thanks bud, your knives rock!
Learned from this. Thank you.
Glad that it helped!
New subscriber. Good on you for taking a break. I might just try the vest.
Awesome, welcome!
There was a small backlash of plieges on my Swisstool right from the moment of purchase.. I chose from three identical ones and each of them had +/- a little backlash in pliers and in some tools in pens. It was a little disappointing, but on the forums on the network I read opinions that this backlash, if it is present from the very beginning, then then it no longer becomes.. I'll hope so
I hope they work out great for you!
ill buy it just registered with bushcraft forums awaiting approval.
Sounds good 👍
Great insight into your thought process and approach. Unfortunately I have to let my Woodsman go due to the change in laws here. 😢. Keep up the good work and videos so I can still enjoy one through you. 👍
I've rewritten this reply 3 times now... I'm angry at the freedom law abiding citizens have lost thru no fault of their own. I'm disgusted by the power grabbing government who know full well these laws won't save a single life....and I'm saddened by the personal loss Bushcrafters and blade collectors are suffering. It's like sheep pulling out their own teeth to keep the herd safe while ignoring the wolves.
I made a Sammi sowing kit in a piece of Bamboo with deer antler bone needles, but it’s not as convenient as the pouch or mini tool roll.
I've seen pictures of those, very cool!
I accidentally butt dialed Kevin on FaceTime the other day and we had a nice conversation. Unfortunately you, I, and a few others own exclusive "grail" knives that others won't be able to purchase soon because of changes in the UK laws. I was telling Kevin that the areas I used to be able to play around with dead limbs are closed off now. I've only been able to test mine out around the place with my monster hedge and firewood. I think I'm going to try the OnX OffRoad to see if I can locate some places to play when the fire ban is lifted in the rainy season. Take care Jim!
That's super frustrating, a fella needs a spot in the woods where he can practice skills and have a campfire every now and again!
@@bushcraftcostarica808 I totally agree! It’s not just bushcraft, frisbee golf, and archery have been shut out as well. People need to get outside.
Excellent trip to the restaurant and market. The park was very nice. Scooters and dual sports would be perfect down there, or Hawaii, etc...
They really are handy when you live where the weather is always good!
You have some patience m8. Hat off too. Amazing 👍
Thanks bud!
Very cool! Your daughter is gonna love it. Thanks for sharing you techniques with us.
Thanks, I can't wait for her to get it!
Patience galore! Well done. 👍
Thank you so much!
Dry we’ll done! The Woodsman is a handful. 👍
Yes it is but luckily it sure doesn't cut like a sharpened pry bar lol
Jim..you missed your calling as a surgeon! Pretty sure kevin gets a kick out of me for telling him to thank you and alex for your videos, ideas, tips, and inspiration on using kevins blades..when my woodsman arrives Ill have some idea how to start learning how to use its many edges, grinds and angles..and just when im trying to decide on a Shirley or a scout..he brings out another knife that goes on my list!
Thanks bud, I really want the bracelet to turn out nice for my daughter. The Woodsman is just so handy, when it's sitting on your leg there's just no weight in the hand and you've got so much control. Yup, Kevin is bad about coming up with great new ideas.... I'm pretty sure his brain never shuts off! Lol
I know, right! He showed me that Bird and Trout the other day, lovely piece of work, my dilemma is that or the Shirley… *sigh* what’s a gal to do?
@Bushpony I feel your pain! I'm leaning more to the Shirley..we will see
Excellent knife skills Jim! Thank you for sharing. Those are out of the box techniques. 👍
Thank you, I enjoy finding new ways (for me) to use my beloved big blades!
This is really helpful. I have not seen these hacks before. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
Glad you enjoyed it bud!
It’s not a plier based multi tool but it is a Victorinox, I bought a, what’s known as a Swiss Champion C army knife back in 1984, it’s still in great condition today. You would never guess to look at it, or use it, that it’s 40 years old. Victorinox, exceptional quality!!!!
Oh my goodness...and I thought mine was old! Very cool 👍
