097 | Why You Are Struggling with Self-Doubt as a Leader—And How to Overcome It!
Have you ever found yourself questioning if you’re the right person for the job? Wondering if you’re really equipped to lead?
You’re not alone!
Self-doubt is one of the biggest struggles for leaders-especially women of faith.
But here’s the good news: God hasn’t called you to lead without equipping you.
Today, we’re talking about why leaders struggle with self-doubt and, more importantly, how to overcome it!
Why do leaders struggle so much with self-doubt?
1. Comparison Trap
It’s easy to look at other leaders and think, ‘She’s more experienced, more confident, more capable than me.’ But comparison is the enemy of confidence. God didn’t call you to be her-He called you to be you.

Covert workplace bullies enjoy this , it's called schadenfreude, and they create many devotees, this helps the Mobbing, which happened to me , management have a complete disregard for company policy , im sure The Cats paw principle was in action , they definitely cause bad morale and it became part of the culture because there were no upstanders and probably didn't realise their gossip was extremely detrimental to the Company Brand , I recently made a anonymous complaint and they know who it is , there were 3 team leaders and the manager on my back for 17 years , I now know the company endorses bullying, after my complaint to the union , the H/S Lady resigned , a little while ago the managers wife and her bestie, who worked with me ,there was a little mutal flirting , but she starting pushing her breasts on me quite a lot over a period of 6-12 months , I said to her she would have to stop doing that , it was driving me crazy, soon after they shut a line down at 04.30am she wanted me to walk her to the car , we chatted , I asked her how many miles on her car as it was really high 300k + she opened the door and bent over for an extremely long time , like to provoke me to touch her ass , I did not and went home , 99% sure it was a setup ,as other situations made me very suspicious. Sad sad people .

Having left a toxic Christian workplace, it’s tainted my experience of church and how I view other Christians. I think I need to take a break from church and detox from the BS for a while

Hi @jamieWiseacre. Sorry to hear about your experience! Remember, ultimately it’s the people who are doing the wrong thing and have let you down, so you need a break from them for sure. You don’t necessarily need to take a break from the church or your faith. You can spend alone time with God through bible study and worship. I pray that your hurt and resentment towards these toxic people will heal and that you’ll find peace once again. Kind regards Rika

You fail to mention that gossip can go two ways. It's just human nature that negative gossip is more exciting.

@@rikawhelan It was. I don't like gossip of any kind. Even tbough I'm retired, it's hard to avoid. I just keep quiet and say "Uh huh." at the end.

Yes, gossip is a menace! Have you also tried changing the topic when someone becomes negative or gossipy? Standing up against gossip can be really tough. It means that you have to be the odd one out sometimes.

Yes, I agree. Some people thrive on negativity and spreading gossip. However, luckily not all people are like that. Is gossip an issue where you work?
