Hi Karen, Congratulations on becoming an ambassador for WeCrochet. Those tweed colors are very pretty and yes I love purple. You mention charts for us who are left-handed. Even though I can read charts that are not written for us I'm sure it would be very helpful for all of us who are left-handed. I have to say that your patterns and charts are well written and I was able to follow your charts just fine.

Hi Karen, nice to have you back. You have been busy, I can't believe that you have done 14 projects.I really enjoyed how you learned to crochet and it is nice to see that you still have your first project that you crochet. You did a good job on that hanger. Loved all of your new yarn. Can't wait to see what you do with them. Now for my story. I started crocheting in the 70's. I had friends that crocheted but they were all right handed so I just watched them for a while and then I told them that I would try but I would hold my hook different from them. They were making the Ripple stitch and I wanted to make a blanket for my husband for our 1st anniversary. So my friends showed me the Ripple stitch and I just watch them and did my own thing. It took me a year to make that blanket. The only thing that went wrong was I didn't know what to do at the end of the row, so my blanket kept growing and that is why it took me a year to complete. Anyway my husband still have that blanket even though it wasn't perfect. After that I told myself that I was going to learn how to read patterns because when I see something I want to crochet I want it to look like the picture. I bought a book for beginners and taught myself how to read patterns (the book was not for left-hand people) even though I'm left-hand I can still figure out patterns, I just have to do the opposite of what the pattern is saying. I'm so glad that I did not give up because crochet is my passion. That is it about me. By the way love that hat.

Wow! That looks great! I think I've tried just about every invisible join technique out there and just was never happy with them. You could still see a seam, or a little bump in tge join lie, or you could see it on the wrong side of the work...which is fine for arumigami, but not for flat projects. And I could never get the standing stich to work. I'm going to try this method

I have several of your patterns in my queue on Ravery. I crochet blankets anytime. If I do them in the summer they will be ready for the cold winters. I have worked with it a little. I had 100% non super wash that I tried. It was squishy and plump fingering with wonderful stitch definition but it was better for knitting than crochet IMHO due to how much crimp it had.

I love crocheting lace, although I use crochet cotton, sizes 10 and 20, so I use very tiny hooks. I am tempted to adapt your blanket pattern to a shawl size for a healing shawl. I think it would be lovely.

Oohthats such a great idea for that stitch pattern. I’m hoping to have the blanket pattern out later this year!

In general, when crocheting lace, my tip is to give the pattern time to develop before you make a decision on whether to finish or frog. So many times the first few rows look a little wonky or messy, and as you go the beauty of the pattern starts to show itself.

Yes!! This is such a great tip!! The scarf pattern I showed in the video was that way!

I love brown, pink, and cream for a blanket…Neapolitan ice cream colors for a girl blanket. For a boys blanket, I crocheted my nephew a blanket that had a little bit of a circus feel to it using a light green, teal, and orange.

Lovely colors that blue blanket! For girls baby blanket I am partial to pink and grey. How is your cross stitch project going?

Thanks for chiming in on colors!! I didn’t think about pink and grey! The cross stitch is going well! Just 3 more squares!! I have one, the others drop in the next 2 weeks!

Good morning. Love the lacy scarf. In answer to your question, about 1/2 a cup of salt to a washing machine load , or a heaped tablespoon to a basin of water.

Love the new name I know that mum always added salt to her laundry if she was worried about colours running One of the things I learnt when spinning and dying was to add salt to some natural dye plants
