Love the concept and your video If I owned a house I'd be on it right now. I didn't see how it got the fresh air, does it not need an exhaust, a chimney? If I can win a big jackpot you'll hear from me.😁❣
I didn't see a flue
With a custom heater like this one, it's not always where you think it would be. For this particular build you can see them building the chimney at minute 2:33.
Now if only t house has that much room for one
All the houses were heated like this ( and still are today , my parents house-but with gas, not wood /but any time I Când switch) in Romania we call them Soba de terracotta-

Some of those flue channels seem narrow with lots of turns. How are they cleaned?
There are cleanouts that get installed for access to all of the flue channels.
Lousy cameraman. all shots are closeup, never gave a pan-view of the project. The video ends without conclusion. It looks like this guy never made a video before ! Take it down
A work of art! I would love this in my home!
My future home will most definitely employ this , just discovered these and wow , I love the idea off extracting every bit of energy instead of feeding g the chimney all the heat ..love it .. great video … real learning. , thank you 😊
So, how does the smoke from the burning wood get dispersed outside?
Standard chimney, 8" interior diameter. With a custom heater like this one, it's not always where you think it would be. For this particular build you can see them building the chimney at minute 2:33.
That's a boat load of wood she put in the fireplace.
How plausible is the idea of retrofitting something like this into an existing home? That's quite a lot of weight to put on a flooring level that is above the basement.
There are many people who have done it. Watch the other videos on this RUclips channel and you can see a "half floor" version of how it would be done
Sold. Love it.
It's just a fireplace, you make it sound novel
Fire should be burned from the top down
"This product is great because I sell them for a living."
beautiful! excellent craftsmanship too
I'd love to see some new videos.
He said carbon neutron i left 👋
I’ve been researching these things for a while now. I want to have one installed in a “soon to be mine “ stone built cottage in southern Ireland. This is the most explanatory yet succinct piece of info yet. Thank you.
Is that a particularly damp area? I imagine an indoor fire would help to dehumidify chilly and moise areas.
How much creosote do these create and how do you clean them out?
You don’t get very much creosote because you only burn relatively short, very hot fires, which result in complete combustion of the wood. The reason a regular wood stove creates creosote is because you restrict the air flow to the fire to prolong the burn time. Choking the fire results in incomplete combustion. Experienced wood stove users burn a short, hot fire once a day (usually first thing in the morning) to burn off any creosote deposits in the chimney created in the overnight long burn.
1wheeldrive751 pretty much has it, but you want to be sure to use seasoned cord word, moisture content of 20% or less, so that the combustion temperatures can get high enough to prevent the creation of creosote.
Heating with WOOD OR COAL is NOT ALLOWED IN CANADA. The CO2 police will arrest you.
Yeah that's right. You wouldn't be allowed to build this in a Canadian home
This is not true, we sell out heaters into Canada, in all Provinces all the time.
This is absolutely brilliant. I’ve heated with wood in the past, and was always intrigued by masonry heaters. But finding someone local who can build one? Not easy. This precast idea is perfect. I’ll be building a retirement house in 15 years, I hope you’re still around then! Wishing you much success. Subscribed.
Martijn Doolard: *heavy breathing*
what temp range does your oven produce?
750F+ right after the fire down to 200F 12hrs later
@@temp-castmasonryheaters5970 thanks for the reply!
This is amazing
this is awesome!
I'm more interested in using this with natural gas or propane. Will be used in West Texas, don't have wood. How does this compare to a natural gas fireplace?
Is it possible to have a this type of fireplace design to be double-sided? Or have a window looking into the fire but not opened on the other side? Without compromising the efficiency of the masonry heater of course... thanks in advance ! Wonderful work :)
We do have a see through kit which has a door on each side of the heater!
Nice but dont light the fire the "old way " Start from the top and the fire will have less smoke and burn better and work itself to the bottom.
Net zero burning wood , clic I’m gone no way
Net zero carbon footprint does not mean zero carbon.
@ just another political term to confuse people
Wood burning is net zero carbon. The growing tree absorbs CO2 from the air and stores it as cellulose fiber. The burning of wood returns the CO2 to the atmosphere for a new tree to absorb. No new carbon is created.
I grew up burning wood strictly for heat as kid in Canada. When I left home, I was glad to not be cutting, splitting, stacking. I said to myself " WOW! We were so dumb for burning wood, its so much easier to heat like this, the heat comes right into the apartment!." Fast forward and when I bought my house, I couldn't stand being there, it was cold and stale. One day (and I mean in a literal 16 days I sold my house and moved) it dawned on me... I sold my house, moved to the country, installed an outdoor boiler, had a wood stove in my new kitchen and have been CUTTING, SPLITTING, STACKING EVER SINCE. I now say to myself " WOW! I was so DUMB... FOR EVER DOUBTING MY PARENTS' EXCELLENT WISDOM AND UNPARALLELED UNDERSTANDING. Now electricity and gas are skyrocketing, and my bill for heat is still 0$, except of course if you count my work, but it is enjoyable and good fitness! Praise Jesus for great parents/ Honour your Mother and Father.
You need some numbers how effcient is it also cost of 1 kg is about 3 dollars for pellets but the worst part is you are destroying trees. Instead I would opt for solar electric heater.
The Finns, Norse and Swedes use a ceramic case around the firebox and it stays hot for hours.
Okay... how can I learn EVERYTHING about this? What an amazing product.
1. Tempcast.com 2. Watch the other RUclips videos on this channel 3. On our website is the phone number to reach Patrick Sieben our owner who narrates this video. He can tell you a lot more
How do I contact you for information on this? They will start my old age home in the spring and I would like to do this but I need information and cost!! Thank you so much.
This is the ultimate caveman TV!
Bloody ugly
...where does the smoke go? Did they just not show the chute? The cardboard part is just for expansion, right? The 'anaerobic environment' is just a void air space for insulation, right? Is it circulating the smoke within that outside the main chamber? That can't be. It wouldn't possibly have enough oxygen to survive. And, the carbon and off gasses would have to escape SOMEWHERE. Where does the smoke go? There's nothing on top of it... I am feeling so foolish whatever I'm missing.
At minute 2:33 you can see them building the chimney. It's off to the side of the heater. Yes the cardboard is just for expansion. He can watch the other videos on the same RUclips channel to watch a full build
Appreciate the craftsmanship!
I'd love one, but it does seem like it would be pretty painful to install a chimney in a typical north American house where none currently exists.
Half of our installs are retrofits. It's not as bad as you would think. The chimney system we recommend goes up pretty easy. Check out the other videos on our channel. they document an install we did including the chimney.
Nice design. Functional and a central gathering point for the family or friends
Where is the chimney? Did I miss something?
At the 2:34 mark you can see them building the chimney.
@ thanks. Okay. I get it. 😊
I would give my eye teeth to have one of these!! I LOVE these!!
In a Budapest, Hungary my cousin had one in their home. It was ancient, there for almost 200 years and beautiful. (Plus, it had an extension you could sit on.)
Using a catalytic converter above the flames to convert all of the carbon into CO2 is the most efficient way of utilizing fuel--it also eliminates buildup of creosote in the chimney. A properly adjusted wood stove, preferably made if cast iron, should last a lifetime. Catalytic converters generally last about five years then need to be replaced.
Burning a very hot fire means you get complete combustion without a catalytic converter. There are also some wood stoves that have secondary combustion chambers that work the same as a catalyst, but without the ceramic honeycomb.
“Net Zero” is total bullshit.

I have to kill trees and bring dirty, bug-ridden logs into my house? ...pass.
Lived in Estonia for a year. Love those sand filled fireplaces in the middle of the cabin. One good fire in the morning and a medium one at night. Two fires, less wood. Heat all day/night
