I have month ahead and emergency fund emergency fund is for when it's serious serious. Things like broken washing machine or fridge aren't an emergency in my opinion

A fab video Zoe I don't always get to comment, but I love this breakdown. My emergency fund would be 20k, but that would be for the entire year. I also have a mini emergency fund, which is my Rainy Day fund to cover little expenses 🩷

It is a lot but it assumes you don't have anything coming in - if one of you is still working your 3k would go further than 1 month.

It’s eye watering seeing it all added up. The first thing I did before stuffing any sinking funds was making sure I had my emergency fund especially being a single mum. You’ve got this 🌸🌸🌸

First thing id do is try get a cheaper car. 300+ just to a car before insurance is nuts 😢. Im sure ira swapped his fee a few years ago for a cheaper finance xxx

Great Video 😊. The £1000 EmFund is meant as a starter and once debt is paid etc then the aim is to fund a 3-6months fund. The 1000 is for Emergency while getting out of debt only and not as a long term plan for emergencies 😊 xx

Good Morning and Happy 2025.

Will be doing this over next couple of days... we have zero currently as going from part time to full time.. so will be starting a Christmas fund and an emergency fund before I start anything else... once I have cleared down a couple debts I will think about sinking funds as I will have more money freed up. ❤

Fab video. It's great to see how everyone is different in saving for an emergency fund, I don't have one as I rent and any repairs are done by the council, I have an appliance fund to cover them things. I don't work either due to ill health so have no income to replace. Good luck though, I think you'll smash that this year.

I would need 2000 for my monthly bare bones budget as I'm debt free and all bills are paid annually but so that's rent food gas elec fuel but if I didn't have to ability to earn next years savings and annual bills would have to be paid monthly and I probably wouldn't make it without going into debts fingers crossed Paul's job is secured x

Great video, Zoe! I think emergency fund feels a little different in a couple too - as it's highly unlikely both of you would lose your jobs or get ill at the same time so you're likely to still have one income coming in. So your emergency fund is likely to go further. This is a great eye opening way to start the new year with our budgets! Looking forward to following your journey to building your EF ❤

Great video Zoe and one I had thought about doing. We have two types of ‘emergency funds’. First EF is the £1000 target which is for anything that breaks in the house, usual plumbing, heating type of stuff and the other is our Rainy Day fund. This is the 10k savings, currently have £900 which is no where near but a start. This is for when the shite hits, a job loss, an illness or other major life changing events. I think it’s still important to have both, if possible. On the flip side making sure income protection, critical illness and life insurance policies are in place to help in those circumstances is vital. Being cash stuffers most of us have cash in savings for future events which if we had to could be used. Just by being mindful of all of these things is amazing and a step ahead of most. Well done Zoe 💕

I dunno if you have control over the amount of ads in your videos,but I had to watch 6 ads for a 29 minute video. Normally I don't mind 1 or 2 ads but 6 made me want to switch off unfortunately
