We rode the Jungfraubahn to the “Top of Europe” where we hiked around Jungfraujoch. From the Sphinx Observatory, we were able to catch a striking view of the Aletsch Glacier, along with enjoying Swiss chocolates and walking through an ice palace. After several hours of soaking in the best view of the Swiss alps, we made our way back to Kleine Scheidegg where we hopped on a hiking trail to Wengen.

We took a train from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald where we then took a cable car up to First Mountain. Then we ventured along the Thrill Walk and hiked to Bachalpsee Lake where we enjoyed a foggy view of the snow capped alps. In the morning, we took a cable car up to Piz Gloria which is a restaurant at the top of Schilthorn. This offered a tremendous 360 view of the alps. We then took the cable car down to Birg to enjoy the Thrill Walk. This offered a fun and exciting way to view the spectacular “Big 3” - Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Our first full day in Rome began with a lovely breakfast next to the Colosseum. Then off to the Roman Forum we went where it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves for the first two hours we were there. The day commenced with croissants and sandwiches next to Trevi Fountain and a walk to St. Peter’s Basilica. We spent the morning admiring the many domes, 24-foot high statues, and the tomb of Saint Peter while inside of the basilica.
