I’ve been to Olympia, but not sure if I’ve ever seen these paintings.
It's in a stairwell at the Multicare Capital Medical Center. It was a randomly beautiful surprise!
Very good
Outstanding
I’m about to make a purchase. First, can I pick it up? A friend lives in Shelton, and has invited me to visit. Olympia is not that much further. Shipping is pricey, plus I’d have to stand in line to get it. My arthritis makes that difficult. Sorry to whine. I’d like to support you and hikers that share videos which allow us to experience what we can no longer do. We could meet in a public location for your safety.
Thank you! I'll email you
Thank you so much! We love it so much & get so many compliments!
Yaaaaay!!! It makes me so happy you love it so much. Thank you!
We have a tree that has broken off at the base, but leaning into the ravine. You could have it, but I think it would be a nightmare to get.
Fantasticoooooo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Gracias!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have talent! What is the price?
Thank you! I make bears this size, style, and with a sign for $450. I'm located in Olympia, Washington. If you're interested in talking further, email info@feraldory.com 😃
Are you chainsaw girl﹖
Yes I'm one of them 😄
Could make a little charcuterie board or a cutting board
It looks like Africa continent shape
It does!
A cutting board
Life is a long haul, so well done going with the best option for your health longterm, and enjoy your new job.
Proud of you Dory!!!
Aw too bad! But I'm glad you're going to get a good rest. And yay new job!
You did great! hope all works out well for you in whatever you do next.
Thank you!
Yay Kennedy Meadows!
I hope everything is okay. Please take care! Oh, and tell those thru-hikers if they happen to be in WA-State Urich Cabin on August 29th that can get a clean face and a burger. ;-)
so good to see you back on trail.
Thanks for uploading updates. I really miss hiking but my body doesn't miss it.
You know it's not a race. Take it easy to start. You will start to get used to the heat again and get your trail legs back soon. you're doing great!
Great to see you back on trail. I was Southbound and met you and Bobcat and Snickers at Sheep Lake just North of Chinook pass last year. Have a really great end of your PCT journey!
Thank you! Hope you get to get out on trail again too 😄
Good to see you back! Completing this 600-ish stretch will close the last gap?? Be safe; keep at it!
Yay excited to follow you again! And especially through the best part of the PCT!
I'm sure you miss Bobcat. I know you'll have fun but also be careful.
Glad that you are back on trail again!
Fantastic upload my ❤
Thank you!
Yes!! Gives it more presence.
I love this so much. Thank you for sharing your art.
Glad you enjoy it!
Your talent amazes me!!! Love the yellow eyes!!!
Thank you so much Janine!
The yellow looks better but will it weather okay with yellow? Fade over time?
That's a fair question. I'd paint it and then put the spar urethane over the paint, which would provide UV and moisture protection. So I don't think it would fade 😁
Yellow eyes!
HI DORY !!!!
NARDINA!!!!!! HELLO!!!!!
so lovely to see you again. I love your updates
Thank you 🥰 R u doing any PCT miles this year?
I don't have any planned. I am still not cleared to hike with weight or down hill. They told me it would take a year or two for my knee to heal. I have been working hard to get back on trail. Hopefully this fall I can do some shore hikes @@FeralDory
Yay! Super excited to follow you again. And I'm going to be doing a little trail angel-ing in SLT in June!
Thanks! And thanks for trail angel-ing!!!!!
Love the carvings and need a custom sign for the Reset Ranch! Congrats on hiking more miles this season!🤗
Thanks Nitsy! Shoot me an email when you're ready to order info@feraldory.com
wow this is so cool. I want to see more
There you are! Nice to see your happy face again.
Thanks! I'm going to post more soon 😺
Congratulations Dory! You are an amazing Lady. So glad to have met you on trail. Have really enjoyed your videos. Be kind to your self as you transition back into the so called normal world.
Thank you! It was great to meet you too. Definitely working on self compassion on this transition 😊
Yay!!! Thank u for sharing your experiences! You are an amazing woman.
Hello Dory! Greetings from Japan. Indeed, your journey seems to be continuing in a post-trek iteration. I face a similar "re-integration" problem whenever I go back to California for a visit. After 37 years in Japan I feel many of the same feelings you and other hikers talk about post-trek. The differences between my situation and yours are that I have essentially "given up" on American society and decided to put down roots in Japan -- so I only go back for short-term visits -- and many Americans when they see my re-integration difficulties can easily pigeon-hole my situation into the "reverse culture shock" category making it easier for them to wrap their heads around it. Unfortunately, you and other post-trek hikers may not be able to avail yourself to the benefits of these crutches so easily. However, truth be told, these crutches only offer short-term relief. Concerning a longer term solution, I have in effect become a "new me," and it took my European friends with a third-party point of view to show me this. Whereas the Japanese see me as "a foreigner" and Americans see me as "Japanized," my European friends describe me as an "international" with the opportunity to make bridges between the two worlds. Likewise, you have just spent 206 days in a different world. You struggled, but you were able to find a way to integrate that wild world into the emerging new you. Now you are back in your pvevious society. I would suggest that you not try to re-integrate yourself into society, because that presupposes that you have to choose only one world and throw the other away or, at least, put it on hold. Rather find the way to re-integrate society bit by bit into you, and with one foot firmly planted in your "new world" and one foot planted in the "old world," you can become a bridge between the two. Your artistic talents offer you an amazing avenue for sharing with the world the "new you" that you have become. And might I add that by artistic talents I do not only mean your wood sculptures. Your photography is stunning. Just a thought. Sorry to ramble. Wherever life's trail may lead -- Be safe; keep at it!
Wow Richard--another thoughtful and insightful comment from you. You're right: it's not one versus the other. I can do both, be both. Thank you 🙏
It has been a pleasure and a privilege. Thank you! Wherever the trail of life may lead, as always -- 安全第一で頑張って下さい! Be safe; keep at it!
What I say when my finished art isn’t great, “ well, I learned a lot on that one” you can’t master anything without trial and error. Mistakes= growth. Playing it safe is boring. Play, enjoy the process and do it for you first, not for money. The joy of the process will be reflected in the final piece and someone will want it. The bear is cute, looking forward to seeing what else you carve!
Thanks! I def have to remember that. Stop thinking about it as a job. Keep doing it for fun--that is how I get into Flow State
@@FeralDory exactly!
What a cutie!
Adorable bear! You're used to waking and walking for 20 miles. Go for day hikes...often, then plan another backpack for next Summer.
It's a great bear! The only time you fail is when you don't try. I chainsawed a squirrel last year. It was my first time EVER at carving anything. It's not near as good as your bear but it still looks a little like a squirrel. One step at a time with getting back to regular life. Do a local hike one day a week maybe. My Squirrel -> ruclips.net/video/-AabnHpzaow/видео.htmlsi=tYw0oEL9Tyfx_vlV
Thank you! I have to remind myself that not trying is an automatic failure. I usually try--its the getting started that's the hard part. Your squirrel is awesome!
Again... hells yeah!!
What will I do when I can't sleep at night if I can't catch up on your trail adventures? So impressive, thank you for taking us along for the ride!!! You're amazing!
Thanks Mary! You could always rewatch lol. I've actually been wanting to watch my beginning videos to see how I've changed. Thanks for following along!
3218.68 kilometres!! Well done.
You're perseverance is astounding! You are beautiful, way to finish it up girl!
