i completely agree, thats why i try to find kanji textbooks with as many in context examples as possible
That’s a great way to do the learning ❤ based on context.
First time I see someone actually teaching how language works. That's how I learned English, by myself.. not sure how but, I guess people just really want to rely on a school or formal exercise instead of actually trying to feel the language.
i grew up bilingual/trilingual so I think I'm pretty privileged that I got the chance to really reflect on how our brains work when we speak different languages, which is the premise of this video!
Everyday I review my own anki deck that I have been building for the past 3 years. I then read Manga to mine new vocabulary words for it. I take walks and listen to Japanese podcasts (this is recent tbh) and I actually got Terrace House and starting watching it. In the beggining I did read up on grammar and a bit of Japanese learning books. But it feels as though I still have a long way to go. At this n3-n2 level would you say you understand everything? Or do you still get sentences and things that still escape your knowledge?
i definitely don't feel like i understand everything! i kind of feel like i know a lot yet not enough at the same time lol. though at this stage i know enough to be able to start figuring out things i don't know on my own - like words and kanji when i see/hear them. though not understanding a single word in a sentence is very, very rare. i think this is because once you reach an intermediate level you have a solid grasp on the fundamentals of the language to be able to start making sense of more nuanced vocabulary and grammar!
Bring more studyvlogs <3
working on it 😅
idk if i study wrong or anki is just not for me, but i quickly get burnt out from anki because i forget all the words and the reviews just become painfully tedious 😩 anyways, i liked your video it was really well made and it was nice to see your study process
make your own decks and start with a few cards at a time! i usually use anki throughout the day to micro-learn (try squeeze in some anki whenever you have a few minutes to spare) but if you really find that it's not for you, keep trying out different methods to see what works!
Wishing you best luck on your N2 exam! I'm taking N3 this December as well, it will be my first ever JLPT test so I'm little nervous.
n3 was my first too! you got this ☺💪
Your dedication to learning and becoming fluent in Japanese is truly amazing!! Such an inspiration 😍🥰🖤💓
aw thank you! this means a lot 🥺
Thank you so much😊
Thank you so much!!❤
Hi Ms. Chloe nice video and the bgm is good too! Always take care ^^
I guess depends on what anime. You should be crazy to try One Piece, but some seinen sounds better? Or still no? And so many people say do not address anyone as おまえ or てめえ or あなた、but no one actually say how I should address. きみ? てんいんさん?
slice of life is good, but imo anime is ok once u have a good grasp on the social dynamics of japanese culture! If it's servicepeople I think すみません is fine - if not I'd say their name plus -san or if u don't know their name, generic titles like お姉さん, お兄さん, おじいさん, etc. but I'd be very careful about assuming the age of the person
@@chloedyhe if a man is around my age I call him お兄さん and if he's older then おじさん? Is there a good way to mis-assume age? For example in Germany if you mis-assume older people for younger they might feel good. But I can also imagine that someone of the おじさんage feels disrespected when calling him お兄さん
@@FurokkuFurokku I would personally use お姉さん and お兄さん for anyone who isn't obviously a senior, then おじさん/おじいさん etc. based on seniority after that when in doubt, assume younger 😅
Theres no quick fix to learn a language. If you are passionate about something you will learn it quicker
hic, I'm stressed on and kunyomi readings >~<
I would say no. I think it’s better just to memorize it. Doing a ton of rote memorization tends to decrease the amount I actually retain instead of just studying. Plus unless u plan on living in Japan chances are no one’s going to ask you to write a kanji out.
so relaxing!! i wanna go to japan too 😭💗💗
great, always looking forward to your vids :))))
thank you!
not my mum giving npc energy in my vids 🤣
Kanji is a complex writing system. There is only one way to master it: extensive reading and writing in Japanese.
daily conversations with Mochi & Michi are adorable and really help with improving my speaking skills.
more video like this, pls!!
💯💯
Not all of the "anki" apps do proper spaced repetition. Often the exact method is secret, just like with Duolingo's personalised practice. And another thing, Anki on desktop, AnkiDroid on Android, Anki Mobile on iOS, they all can sync to the same place. I like editing cards on desktop, but mostly review on mobile.
Для мене це подвійні граблі. Я ледь можу зв'язати сотню слів англійською мовою. Поки що. Вивчу англійську, хоча б на початковому рівні. Я навіть не уявляю як потім вчити японську за англійськими курсами. Це буде цікаво.
the reminder from MochiKanji is such a big help. This feature works me well 😊
Aww this is so sweet 💗
thank you! 🥰

Learning about the stroke order rules is crucial for mastering kanji. The Japanese can recognize if you write wrong the order
I've been searching for a Japanese learning app that goes beyond basic material. I'll try to download MochiKanji to learn ^^, it seems fits me <3
Reading manga in Japanese with furigana is such a smart way to practice
Can you recommend some Manga reading websites?

Hi Chloe, the first time I've watched your video. Great!!
After using MochiKanji for quite some time now, I can confidently say it does wonder for me a lot. The spaced repetition method, combined with engaging quizzes and activities, has made my learning journey both efficient and enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone serious about mastering Japanese!
Tbh I felt limited by the pay gap, but I did love the repetition method.
The variety of quizzes and activities on MochiKanji makes learning kanji so much more engaging. Highly recommend!
I love the reviewing lesson on the MochiKanji app the most, as I can review what I've learned in a comprehensive way
