Austrian airlines delayed every dam time. When you go from U.S. through Austria to Albania you are entering / exiting the Schengen zone (also point of entry to Europe) , that means you have to go through passport control. So gate / ( 40 mins) Passport control / (40 mins)Security then back to gate etc. never gonna make that connection. Sometimes the delay is a blessing lolz. Minimum you need 2 hour connection.

Granted I've never been black in Tirane but I'd imagine it was how you were dressed and your loudness that might have send some signals to security that you may become a problem. You got some regulars in there then you got that group of guys you just shouldn't f wit and maybe the security was just trying to be proactive.
