Minilogue Run through

In this Vlog, i give a brief look at how i create sounds on the Minilogue, plus how the sounds can be manipulated using the various controls. This is not a tutorial, it's purely to show the way you can alter the user "Init" programme and how to make a pad or any sound you like from that programme.

Penmon Point, Anglesey. Filming with my drone, with my daughter and her bubbles.

Penmon Point, on the Eastern Peninsular of the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn), on the outskirts of Beaumaris town. Here you will find fantastic views of Puffin Island, The Great Orme and the Trwyn Du Lighthouse. If you are very lucky, you may even get to see the amazing Bioluminescent Algae at night during the early summer months and witness the shore lit up by the neon blue algae.

Really really enjoyed this set!!!
Cheers Andy, much appreciated. 🎼
great set thank you !
Glad you like it, cheers! 👍🎼
Thank you for the video! I never knew Bangor used to be a thriving city in the past.
Well, Caernafon has the castle, Bangor has the University. I think most places were busier back then, than they are now, possibly!
I use my looper aux for my spoken samples ,but still carnt sample like say my guitar even tho I've seen videos on you tube but just use it for a creative way .
I record whatever i need in Logic, then save the file as a wav and then send it via usb to the 505.
@@georgekempson670 505 boss looper? Im gonna use ableton as ive got soundcraft note pad mixer interface built in that tricky with what lead goes into what as iv e seen on line instructions
Yes, RC505 looper. The usb cable from the 505 to computer. A hard drive appears on the desktop, which contains the wav files that i have added. You can add or remove the files, then send the files back to the 505. Took me a while to work it all out but with help from the online pdf manual, i eventually understood how it worked.
@@georgekempson670 just been on it now love the fx .Wish they was about in the 00's. As my timing wasnt 100 % being better and used to the guitar .
Top one George, looks like an interesting little cool place 👍how was the sound system? May have to pop down to do a set if I get chance ….. easy to park ?
Plenty of parking Daren, close to the entrance. It isn't actually that small. The entrance takes you into the bar, which is quite small but from there you go into the room where we play, which is not a bad size...i don't mean Roni Size. 😆 Anyway, it's on my doorstep, so all being well, i'll be going again, might get to see you. 😉 🎹
Wonderful! I would've been in either my 2nd or 3rd year at Bangor Uni when this was filmed. It's like a time portal! Seems much of it was filmed early in the morning, so I would've been going to bed about then! 😂
George Hare, who filmed the footage, did indeed go out quite early on the the morning. His way of thinking was to film as much as he could whilst it was still pretty quiet, then go back in the afternoon and film whilst it was busy and plenty of people about, so as to show a comparison. It's not quite like that anymore and i doubt if it ever will be, what with the advent of online shopping and the council in their wisdom, increasing the rents and rates which has the effect of driving the shop keepers to set up their own online businesses. I did have a thought that the same architect was employed throughout the nation, to design the same centres, as they look very similar these days. Cheers Richard.
Well aren't you just Mr AWESOME! I really loved that! You are so 'unassuming' and each track was different and that in itself is pure talent! I am just delving into this electric world, and it's so important to have people to aspire to! Oh man, that second track took me back to the clubs back in the 80's, where we all wore black - especially on our lips and fingernails - you really recaptured that vibe and then you went into a totally different jazz type feel 🤗 ahhh I love music so much! I think without it, I would be long gone or in an institution ha! Thanks so much for sharing this!
Thanks so much for sharing 😊 and really nice to see you too! Imma gonna follow you now ❤
Thanks Jaed, i'm not sure what i would be doing without music in my life. 👍 🎼
Will you sell me yours?
That’s the Bangor I remember, it’s just a shadow of itself now with most of the business and shoppers going to Caernarfon Road to shop. When I was a kid Bangor High street used to be buzzing with people, Tesco was in the Wellfield originally until it moved to Caernarfon Road, then Argos came to Bangor and took on the Former Tesco premises. It was nice to see the old Wellfield shopping centre again, that was demolished in the late 2000’s early 2010’s to be replaced by the Menai Centre. I’m pleased somebody took the time to video Bangor from years ago to help us remember as it’s not the same anymore.
100%.............getting rid of the wellfield.....big mistake....big thing going back to go "down" town on a Sat etc.......Antoniazzi,s cafe in the corner.........everybody went there...........
Such a shame to see the state Bangor’s in now.
me and my boyfriend are currently studying at Bangor university. It looks a lot different now, Great video. It was awesome to see how the town has changed😀
Yeah, i moved here in 1988 and it was a very busy place as you might expect, being a uni city. It is indeed in a rather sorry state but that's local government for you. Nadolig Llawen. ☃️
Nice one that said I have already said this 😂😂😂😂 looking good size is not everything look at my small 6x6
I beg your pardong?... Ah right, da studio innit? The studio in the other place was ideal for recording bands due to it's size but after around four years i was getting burnout, so ended up recording podcasts for a company in Zurich, much less stressful.
Glad you're getting up.and running,take care our G.
Thanks Jan. It's good to have the studio up and running again, i've rather missed it. xx
It's all looking cool, George! It'd be great to see you at an EMOM soon. Good luck with the "ticker"!!!!
Thanks Andy, need to get it sorted, then i can start enjoying life again. Take care mate. 😉 🎼
Glad studio is up n running!
Thanks Lisa, after near on 8 months without the studio, it's brilliant to get it back again. 🎼
Its so different now. Nothing like when i was a kid
Hopefully things will turn out for the best. I can certainly relate to being too far from anywhere..... I'd love to move back to northwest....out skirts of Preston. Hopefully you'll get studio up soon!
Cheers Lisa, yeah it's been an odd year or so, what with the eviction and then trying to find somewhere to live, the flat is brilliant. Been waiting for some heart surgery, that should have been on the 25th but it's been cancelled, til god know when. x
@@georgekempson670 Hope you hear soon x
@@InkyDaCaT Cheers Lisa. 😉 x
Bit later to you here George 😈 glad you got the flat and you are happy with it ( I know not where you wanted ) and you will get your studio up and running all in good time 😈👍👍👍 we like popping into Caernarfon for the pancakes near the castle 👌👌👍👍👍👍 hope you well 😁
@@daren.t.housse2121 Cheers Daren. Cracking set last night mate, well enjoyed it. Shame i couldn't be there, either to watch or perform but waiting for some heart work to be done, should have been the 25th this month but it's been cancled. Should be much better once it's sorted. Give us a shout when you down this way, only a few miles from Caernarfon. Take care mate. 😉 🎼
Nice one George sweet DnB 👍👍👍👍👍 how’s things and what’s with your house situation
Cheers Daren. I managed to get a decent flat the other side of Caernarfon last week, so bummer i wont be moving back to Rossendale. The warden at the flats up there was messing me about, so i needed to take this flat, otherwise i would be out of options. Also having some work done on the old ticker, had three ops since i was four, congenital. Anyway, i go into Liverpool the 25th Oct, should be fighting fit after that. Cheers for asking dude. Take care mate. 😉 🎹
Ooo that bass at end is lush😁😁😁😁🍻
Cheers Lisa, glad you like it luv. 😉 🎹
💥George💥 Epic beats my mate!! Liquid as it comes.... YUMMMMMM
Omg this takes me back to when i was a teenager i am originally from bangor well tan-y-bryn to be exact Bangor used to be buzzing with people going in and out of shops and on the high street and me and my parents used to go into the white lion for a drink and me a glass of coke when shopping i just moved to llanfairpwll last November from Holyhead after 12 years there and went to bangor but theres nothing there really anymore and the town center is so quiet its like a ghost town i only shop in caernarfon road now as the center has nothing really left god i miss the good old days
I knew George Hare lovely man. It was nice to hear his voice again shame he is no longer with us.
They shouldn't have knocked down the wellfield centre, Bangor had not been the same since.
I AM TERRY LLOYD FROM BANGOR 1986 hi to all back home in bangor i am happy to been from bangor i am 37 Yo and to day bangor is bad to com fuck all in bangor and love you all back home
Wow i just want to go back .
Awesome musical production and orchestration. I love. Deep rythm and energy. Unique creative style. Much inspired and talented. So psychedelic. Good for the mind and the ears. Such a peaceful and relaxing pleasure to listen. Much positive. Big big big like for this fantastic sharing and fabulous perform. Splendid and luminous.
How did I miss this George 👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎as Inky says 👍👍👍👍
Well, if you will play hard to get dude. 🤣😂. I enjoyed both the Lytham and Huddersfield gigs, venues were a touch small but think Jamie has found a decent sized place in Blackpool. Could have done the Sowerby Bridge and Leeds as well but the chest infection put paid to that. Glad you enjoyed it Daren, i'm sure there'll be more, i'll keep you posted. 😉🎼
😁😁😁 awesome George 😉🙌
Aww cheers Lisa, much appreciated love. Had the son and grandson there with me this time, seemed to enoy it, chippy on da way home. x😀
Great set George well done
Thanks muchly Ian, enjoyed myself and got to meet some decent likeminded muso's. Looking forward to maybe playing at some of the Yorkshire gigs over the next few weeks. Take care mate. 😉 🎹
Awesome set George! Could have listened to a few hours of this!🙌
Thanks Lisa, very kind of you. Shame i didn't get to finish the set but that's life. At least Jamie sent me a message saying he felt i was the best act that evening, so that was good. I can send you the other two tracks if you wish, i sent them to Andy. Take care Lisa and thanks again. 😘 x
@@georgekempson670 better still perform them and put them on yt?😁😁
@@InkyDaCaT Well obviously last Fridays tracks are on there, with the vid. Now do i add the other tracks as mp3's, or wait until i play them out with some new tracks, at another EMOM? hmm! Would like to do a couple of fessies with Jim and Andy next season, EMOM's on tour, as it were. Food for thought. 😉
@@georgekempson670 do it 😁😁 and send me tracks I was shocked in best way matey😁😁😁😁💥🙌
@@InkyDaCaT I hope you weren't expecting something different Lisa. Ok, the 4/4 was used but there are times i just get the inspiration to do a couple in that style but i am a Basshead at heart. If you have a gmail account, let me know and i'll send you the other tracks. 🙌 x
Thanks.
looks notthing like this now. its nearly empty with dead and depresing atmosphere. wish it was still like this video. ive got some found memories of shopping in bangor with my family around this time. this video brings those feelings and memories right back. hopfully the high streets come back to this one day. thanks for the video.
You're not wrong. As the footage shows, it was a busy place, with various quality shops and plenty of parking. I'm not sure it will ever return to how it once was, it's a lot easier to run these places down, than it is to build them back up again. God only knows what the visitors think of it now.
Caernarfon knocks the spots of run-down Bangor. Caernarfon is teeming with visitors and has the lovely walk around the castle and Aber Foreshore. Nothing like that in Bangor.@@georgekempson670
The centre of Bangor now is full of empty shops.
Took me right back to my childhood. Appreciate this video
I am there on May 2000 for my viva
This is how I remember Bangor when I was a kid, when it was decent. It had a genuine sense of identity and charm about it...until Menai Centre took over. Remember the Pet Shop very well, His and Hers Furniture Store, Melin Bupur and all them sweets from Brewsters and Woolworths. It's lost all that now. Some time ago now must be over 15 years ago at least.
Yeah John, time hasn't been very good to Bangor i'm afraid. I think it's just how things are these days, the old school councils seemed to at least have some sort of pride in the areas they covered but since they died off and the "progressives" took over with their new ideas, such as increasing the rents and rates, which put many businesses off and with most of them deciding to have an online shop, which is the ways of things now, it's small wonder the town centres are falling apart.
I attended Bangor Uni from 99 to 2002 and this is how I remember it. Great nostalgia trip.
Thanks mate One of my favourite places Its amazing
Bangor looked so much better back then.
Hi George! Thanks for subbing - subbed back in return and enjoyed watching this vid! Some nice retro kit! (funny isn;t that things we bought new or almost new back in the 90s is now "retro" - the onward march of time!). I agree with you that just because a piece of gear is old, doesn't mean it's no longer relevant. Modules like the Proteus2000 and Keyboards like the CS1x still make great sounds,
Cheers Andy, yeah the CS1x is quite a sentimental bit of gear, i bought it in '98 and both that and the Proteus have been used on quite a few of the albums i've produced up until 2008, when i started working for a company in Switzerland recording podcasts for them, the income was a bit better so it was a no-brainer really, then i got the drone and did a bit with that and produced the music for the footage, quite enjoyed doing that......until i drowned the drone in the Menai straight.
Lmao its a shit state now
There are some good footage in this video. Nice work Liked and subscribed.
Very informative, thanks for this video! Cheers.
Thanks for the comments Decima1. It was just a very basic run through of what i knew at the time about this amazing synth, i hadn't had it very long when i recorded this footage. Glad you enjoyed it and take care. ; )

Cheers Daren, the jerkiness of the drone was something acting up, it was to be the downfall of the drone the next time i went to the Secret Beach, it wouldn't respond to the remote and down it went for a swim, never mind, such is life eh? I'll stick to buying studio gear i think mate, it's safer. ; ) Take care Daren.

You need a gimbal on that camera George. I'm a bit dizzy now . You live in a lovely place.
You aren't wrong (about the gimbal i mean). I'll get around to getting one maybe, i don't really go out vlogging with the camera much, so if i can find a cheap one, then i might go for it. Hope you are keeping well. Take care. ; )
