Your health wearable lies to you (+ how to get the full truth)
I've been really focused on upgrading my health lately. Probably a mix of reading Outlive by Peter Attia, listening to Huberman Lab podcasts, and meeting SUPER fit people in NYC. I decided to invest some money to figure out where my body currently is.
In this video, I spend over $1,000 testing my body to see if I'm healthier than a 65-year-old. From a DEXA scan to a VO2 Max test, I uncover the truth about my health and fitness. Is my biological age higher than my actual age?
Tests:
* DEXA Scan: $230
* Fit3D: $40
* VO2 Max Test: $200
* TruDiagnostic COMPLETE

And I also loved your humor
This is a really good video
Thanks! This helped me 👍👍👍
thanks for this. I'm considering it, luckily my intentions are to watch stuff while I'm on my workout machine and to play video games in bed, so maybe its screen can accommodate that. i appreciate knowing it would suck to use as a normal pc monitor
This isn't the next step in Pomodoro... Its just your own misunderstanding of Pomodoro. Your concept of "Progressive Pomodoro" is just how Pomodoro is MEANT to work. The 25/5 isn't a hard time that you MUST obey. Its a starting point. You're SUPPOSED to adjust it from there to suit your needs.
Why you are not uploading the videos?
My gut feeling says, this progressive pomo will be goldmine to improve my focus. Many many thanks 🙏🏻❤️. I am going to apply it.
To add. Keep the maximum flow to 90 minutes because it's the max our brain can work most efficiently.
i need it
i personally prefer studying for strraight up 3 hours in a single stretch and i have sort of build this healthy habit of doing it 2 times a day atleast. on my productive days i do it 3 times a day and it litreally works
Please do not use social media or youtube on your breaks. You will do your attention span and focus a huge favor. Get bored. Stare at the ceiling or look at the traffic through your window. The break will feel longer and will be more beneficial to your mind.
Thanks I was looking for this video but which tools do you recommend for progressive promo?
None of the pomodoro techniques work for any form of creative work. It’s a useless principle, especially your ‘version’.
Great video, Mike! I've experimented with a lot of different Pomodoro intervals, but my favorite is 37 minutes of work followed by 7 minutes of rest. 😊 For me, the first 37 minutes are essential. It often takes about 15-20 minutes to overcome the initial resistance when starting something you don't enjoy, but after that, the brain seems to settle into a more comfortable and focused state.
bro this is incredible, cant wait to try
I use LCD so I don't give a fk about dark mode. I just reduce my screen brightness and use light mode.
loved the tv/movie reference edits lol "ohhhh" "its cleaner"
I just want to offer another perspective here: I recently read The Clean Coder, where the author suggests that when coding, being in a state of flow is not where the best work gets done-it's where the most work gets done. When you're in the flow of coding (or similar tasks), you may overlook some scenarios. The author even recommends taking a break from the flow. Which approach would you choose?
Nobody observed this but bro applies all his human psychology knowledge while editing videos.
Why did you stop making videos man? You will be one of the top if you keep going. Trust me I'll partner with you if you need a wingman!
Thankyou so much, what a fresh perspective to reshape pomodoro for optimal focus. 😊
Love that last song. What is it?
Highly surprised me when u mentioned neuroplasticity. Working on that makez u a lethal weapon not many focus on it
The only major claim for light mode is readability. The eye strain is reduced because looking at the screen is unconfortable so it forces you to look away. Watched that on the Answer in Progress channel ))
Great! I’ll test it right now
What was the app that u were using on your mac for tracking??
when i enter in the flow and do my work and suddenly i feel tired and i take a brake when i restart ang get back to work how much time i have to put on the timer?
This was brilliant thanks a lot!
4 Хорошее мненип
I have some massive improvements and simplification for your idea. Set your timer for 15 and just hit repeat if you’re good go, or take a break. Next, on your 5 min breaks, do not do anything on your phone or anywhere that stimulates your brain. Rest, relax and honestly try not to think. Then your brain actually looks forward to working again because it’s more stimulating than doing nothing.
Missed opportunity to call it "PoPoMo"
You are 100% correct Michael, great video cheer's from Ireland 👍
ONLY THE BRAINDEAD get BRAINWASHED!!!!!!! THIS IS ONY FOR THE BRAINDEAD!!!!!!
Well it’s not a computer monitor
Amazing video Mike el Rapon. <3
I agree with this 🎉
Time timer works for me
bro this is fire
This looks like a very pragmatic version of Pomodoro. I followed the Pomodoro technique in the past and I had the same frustration that you pointed out when I was in the "flow". So happy I found this video. I must say that putting Huberman in the title and in the thumbnail is a fantastic idea. I might have scrolled past this video otherwise. Sub'd!
I just turned my phone on light mode by accident and my eyes hurt 😭
Thank you ❤
Mike, I'm looking to try out Colemak-DH Wide (ISO), are there any typing simulators that you know of that let us test out these layouts before we make the switch? It has some key assignments that would help out the programming side of coding...
In fact there is, there is a typing game call Monkeytype it has many layouts including Colemak-Dh-Wide.
Mf light mode in the big '24 🙏
This video is a great reminder of how we need to adapt our productivity methods. I started using Astirna New Tab a while back and it keeps my tasks in check while I work. Might consider trying Progressive Pomodoro as well.
**Note to the author. The music is way too loud! It's as if your priority is to show us the music instead of what you are saying. It is absurdly distracting, and even though I am very interested in what you are saying, I want to stop watching because it is hard to pay attention or understand what you are saying. I feel like you are talking to me in a nightclub about something important, and I have to work 3 times as hard to ensure I don't miss anything you say.
Great video! Excited to see how everything has worked so far!
This criticism is backwards from Hemingway's technique! He recommended exactly to quit while you're in a flow state -- which leaves you hungry to return to the work, spending your break time thinking about the work. If you only quit when you're feeling frustrated/blocked/tired, you're potentially more likely to distract yourself from returning to the work. I don't use Pomo technique anymore except to brute-force grindy workloads -- e.g. writing a ton of copy -- but otherwise I tend to practice until I'm feeling really ahead, and then take a break.
He didn't specifically say to quit when you're in flow state. He mentioned to stop when you know what comes next so that coming back is easier. Leave when you're at a stage (could be any time into the session) when you are clear what the next step is so that you come back knowing what the next step is. There is less resistance in that method. It would be silly to quit when you're in flow, plus if you're really in flow you can't get out of it and chose to quit, because you're in flow which means you're too busy focusing on the task.
Thanks bro ❤
Thank you.
Can see why you could have burned out, this quality is uber pro! Good luck streamlining it :) In the meantime I'm stealing all the moves I can.
