Dom and Silas on an AR240 ride at Lake Murray!
Great bike! Super easy to work on. Turned mine into a supermoto. The TM42 carb will wake it up. Have a full exhaust and opened airbox. Classic bike when you want a simplistic motorcycle. A total blast to ride around town!
Watching this review, nothing has really discouraged me from giving this bike attention. I want a bike that I can ride long distances on the 401 and 402, ride to work on 90km/h roads, go on rides with my Girlfriend in the back, and take on the dirt on trails and fields, and this bike seems to be pretty perfect
Sounds like you should seriously consider this bike. I’ve owned a few and this is my favorite so far.
@@hammilltime Plus the HEAPS of spare parts and tons of community help is a real pro here
hello from Japan Very nice video! Also I have recently got dr650se of 1997. I am very excited. If I upload new videos of dr650, please watch them.
Sounds good!
Procycle jet kit! Tusk dsport tires are great and cheap. I put a leovince pipe on mine and also had the suspension setup for my weight.
Check out cross training enduro RUclips channel. They have great videos on how to wake up the beast. I rode the nebdr last fall on my dr650. It handled it with ease. I got hit by a car on the ride home and broke some bones and destroyed my bike. I'm about 80% healed and just bought a new tenere 700. It is a great bike with great features. I will be getting another dr650 when I can find one. It has a great analog feel to it and it is bomb proof. Do yourself a favor and pony up for a procycle seat, it was one of my favorite upgrades. Happy riding! Enjoy your awesome bike!!
HOw funny, I just read a review on guy got 35,000 on his been all over north America. Drop his counter shaft sprocket to 14, his top end is now higher an he does the Math, Curves an everything on the ways an hows on rpms, etc etc etc.. He likes it much better with 14.. ruclips.net/video/4yIwaKFzi6w/видео.html Go to last part of video an he explains the hows an whys.. Smart old dude.
Hands hurt . Put a set of risers on the handle bars . It's probably too low, putting extra pressure on your hands . ✋️
I got a new to me 2020 back in January. Love it, put over 3k on it already. Luckily, it already had all the major stuff already done, like seat, suspension, carb, exhaust, etc. Also had the Bajaworks screen. I had the same problem. I trimmed about 3 inches off the top. It made a big difference with banging my head around.
Suzuki..... The seat .... The seat.. Looks great but .... Ahhhhheee. 2x4 in reality. 😑
Would absolutely 1st thing get rid of those grips!
I bought a DR650 recently too . IM wanting to do similar things to my bike . Hope you put up more vids on your progress !
Being in Montana the first mod I did was an IMS tank. Seat is the next mod for you.
I did the exhaust, ProCycle jet kit, removed snorkel and 14 tooth sprocket. Huge difference. No regrets.
What did the sprocket change do for you , thanks ?
Reading all over ya 14 way to go
@@bobclapper2672much more manageable at slower speeds without slipping the clutch.
I just got a white 2024 DR650! Love it. I would agree completely with your assessment. Enjoy.
I had grips like that on my 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere. I installed a set of Grip Puppy's and they worked great. I also put a set of Heidenau K60 Scout tires on it, and loved those as well. Nice bike, that's for the review.
I had a 2009 DR650. I rode it about 40,000 miles before the bike reached that magical point where I was working on it more than I was riding it. It had a TM40 carb and full exhaust, big IMS gas tank, aftermarket Suzuki gel seat, (which I recommend) and a set of springs calibrated for my weight. I had some hard cases I cut out of 0.090" 3003 aluminum scrap and bent at work and pop-riveted together at home. It was on it's 3rd or fourth set of turn signals. I once rode it 100 miles to an enduro race, rode it in the race nearly killing myself about six times, and then rode it home. I got a wild hair up my ass when it had about 25k on it, and rebuilt the top end with larger valves and a J&E high compression piston. It really woke the bike up, it would pull 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies no problem. I enjoyed it more than any other bike I've had, and while it was cantankerous at times, I could always get it to run again.
congrats, youre gonna love it!
Thanks!
Check seat concepts. I did a larger rear sprocket but I have the 400
Hey dude, nice review. I live in SC too! Love this bike and the ONLY reason I have not got one is I really want a fuel injected bike because I'm not very mechanically inclined at tinkering with carbs. For those that are, it's no problem I know. My friend keeps telling me the future DR will have EFI for emissions reasons but who knows. I'm keeping my little KLX230 for now but still want a DR down the line. Not sure where you got this, but if you got it from Foothills, I may have actually sat on this bike when I was looking at it back in January. Ride safe and great bike!
I actually bought the bike from a dealer in NC, mainly because they were the closest with a 2023. According to them, it was still in the crate when I called. Enjoy the KLX!
I got the oil changed on my 2022 2.7 turbo at 30000 miles next oil change it was 2 quarts low never had a vehicle burn oil like this keeping an eye on it now going to have to get some extra oil just in case ( change the oil every two months)
Turbos burn oil

Reg 87??
Yes, regular 87.
💞Wow💜💛💜💛💛💛💛💛
Fun.
Which step rails you have?
They are the factory step rails.
Nice
After a couple months take off the training wheels, as he gets older when he needs a bigger bike they won’t have that so it might be good if he starts practicing some balancing

Hi
Hi!
Cute dog
I found ur channel Jace - E
Why? I get that mileage with my 2019 1500 Z71 with the 5.3.
Your 5.3 has less torque. Those are sloths.
Looks like fun
I am seriously thinking of buying the 4 cylinder... I never owned an American truck just a Toyota Tacoma 2004 still with me at 176,000 miles. Do you think the Chevy can RELIABLY get me 125,000-150,000 miles??? All I changed in Toyota Tacoma so far was major wise was timing belt and alternator twice... But I really like a full size 6 seater truck... Comments PLEASE...
I do not believe a new vehicle will compete with a 04 tacoma for longevity at all. That generation of trucks was a different breed. I believe the 2.7 chevy 1500 and 2.7 ecoboost f150 are your best bet for the long haul at the moment. Its funny that I recommend the smallest turbo engine a half ton has, but they are both great options.. the only other truck I'd buy right now is a nissan titan v8 before they disappear.
Toyota tacomas are one of the best from a reliability stand point in my opinion. I’ve got 45k miles now and no issues. I just hope that direct injection doesn’t gum up the valves too much. Worst case they’ll need to be cleaned. We’ll have to wait and see.
Ur brake pads are worn like crazy for only 35k miles. My truck has 28k miles and my pads are at 92% and 95% in the rear.. you deff drive fast 😅
Haha, I do a lot of hauling and towing.
@@hammilltime yea so do I.. I tow a 28 foot cargo trailer with a camper in the front and bikes in the back.. lol 3500miles of towing. Like i said you drive fast. And driving as hard as you do , i can see you having alot more issues
Thats what that stupid gauge says you tool! Not accurate.@@parkerdeamer5721
I’m assuming you have the 2.7 turbo too? What do you think of it?
@@hammilltime one.of the best truck I have ever owned. Had a 2020 Ford EcoBoost 3.5 and it was the biggest POS. Super powerful but left me stranded 5 times. This little 2.7 is great on gas. Can tow my 8500lbs trailer no probs and if something does go wrong it's a small package so wont cost too much for repairs.
Let’s gooooo
I miss doing that with my friends
Hey...What bov is this?

Not sure bragging about a new fuel pump and showing your house i presume is worth the attention with all respect. If you would've showed the old fuel pump and what it sounded like then i could understand more but showing your boat and house isn't convincing that you are really talking about your fuel pump cuz you never explained what kind of fuel pump you installed. Imho. I'm sure you'll be more comfortable and experienced with your next post. Nice fuel pump.

Do you have a bluetooth hose???? Where's the water hose hooked up too?
To the flush port on the engine.
@@hammilltime Duh... I knew that 🤣🤣🤣 Brain fart here
How much and will it hurt the GM factory warranty, I would love that sound in my new Colorado Trail Boss!
I think it was about $100. I uninstalled it because it kept throwing the check engine light. Not sure about the warranty.
Where did you purchase it from
Oof
I own a new Colorado Trail Boss with this engine plus I got the 430# torque calibration but I wouldn’t want this motor in my full-size! Using a quart at 5k miles is crazy, I’m changing mine every 3k!
Yeah. That motor in a Colorado ought to be pretty awesome. I first was using Rotella Truck oil in the red bottle, but then it got hard to find and super expensive. I didn’t really notice any issues then. I switched to Castrol and that’s when it seemed to burn more. This time I went to Mobil 1. We’ll see if it changes at all. I think the key is to keep checking it and not let it get too low.
That's why you wear a helmet...
Dommy the dummy, why would you give your kid such a stupid ass name?
Good-looking truck.
Burning 1 qt every 5k.......oh heck no.....that's unacceptable.
I think its normal with direct injection engines. At least GMs😂. My 15 4.3 burned about a quart of oil between oil changes 5-7k since new. Always was in the marks when I changed it. The truck was perfectly reliable, 130k when I traded in.
Mine burn 1qt every 3,500. I will no longer buy a vehicle with a turbo again
With these new engines, oil burning is the new norm. High compression and direct fuel injection paired with low tension piston rings is what causes this. Im not saying I like it whatsoever (lol) but it is the nature of these beasts.
