The Honda CX500 may very well be one of the best motorcycle engines ever built. They go for tens of thousands of miles with zero maintenance. Same for the early Goldwing engines. The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport may very well have the best engine ever to power a motorcycle. The exquisite castings, the sheer beauty and the sound is unsurpassed. Same goes for the Laverda Jota. No motorcycle can be everything to everybody, but a discerning rider can make good choices by selecting many of these "20 Worst".

you really don't know much about the big 3s engines im sorry but the Dodge 5.2 and 5.9 and actually great engines later years of them was advertise over 250 hp like the gm 305 350 and ford 302 and 351w the Dodge 5.2 aka 318 and 5.9 aka 360 the basic architecture of them have been around for more then 50 year only different from the newer magnum engines is the heads and roller cam all the small blocks from the big 3 was great motors also in the 90s the vortek 350s and ford 302s also only made around 230 to 260 hp depending on the application you really should do better home work before bashing engine manufacturers and yes the 4.7 was a pos how ever multiport fuel injection is in every vehicle built in the 90s 2000s all way the way up to today sone cars today still use multiport along with direct cylinder injection and timing chains have seem to work find for over 60 or 70 years in just about every American made engines

I have a kz550 that has about 60,000 miles on it. Still runs strong. Also have a sportster 1200 with 55,000 miles. Do your oil changes and regular maintenance and any engine will last.

Back in the sixties I had a 35 years old 1930 DL Harley. Very reliable bike. Main flaw was the generator standing beside the front cylinder. The bevel gear drive was the problem. Not sure if they moved the generator in front of the crankcase in -31 or -32. Compared to other makes of same era, not bad.

I had for several years a BMW R75/5 with a tuned R90S Engine, used it for long rides and for several Races, one of them a 1000km Race, the Power was like a Kawasaki 900 in the acceleration even faster because much lighter, with the original transmission ratio she was going above 220 km/h and was very much fun to drive, double Disc Brakes and Drum in the Back, avery light and agile Bike wich was giving meva lot of fun !

The Chevy 4.3 V6 was a great engine. i had seen these cover well over 400,000 miles in Astro Vans at Belger Cartage Delivery vans and despite having all those miles on them only needed regular service and Maintenance. The biggest problem was they ate ball joints and idler arms and other suspension work but the 4.3 engines in them just ran and ran well. this is when i worked in KC Mo as a automotive technician in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I also have a 1989 Astro with a 4.3 liter V6 with very high miles on it and the engine in it has never been out for anything, burns no oil and still runs like a top.
