Fabulous day at Royal Deeside Steam railway. Enjoyed a nostalgic trip aboard, whistle blaring and smoke billowing across the tracks. Trolley came down the central corridor serving tea and biscuits during the journey. Lovely people, all volunteers working hard to preserve these wonderful trains. Wheelchair access aboard the train is available with advance notice.

Wonderful views from the pedestrian bridge over The Bridge of Feugh outside Banchory. We were lucky enough to see the brave salmon leaping upstream through the torrential waters, after heavy rainfall. Wheelchairs can access the pedestrian bridge from the nearby car park.

On 8th August 2022 I saw two young cats playing on some waste ground in the town. I thought they were playing with a vole, but it was the biggest caterpillar I'd ever seen. I discovered it was an Elephant Hawkmoth Caterpillar, and needed a place to turn into a chrysalis and incubate over winter. Found a Bumble Bee floating lifeless in a sink of water. Miraculously she was still alive. Gave her sugar water and kept her warm for three hours. Then she demanded to be released.

Riverside Museum is a great day out for all the family. When you're in Glasgow it's free entry, although donations are welcome and there is so much to enjoy. From classic cars, buses, an authentic cobbled street complete with shops you can walk in and explore. No wonder it achieved European Museum of the Year.

On a freezing cold October day, I found a caterpillar curled up and frozen on the ground. I brought it in the house and put him in a tank, with two other moth chrysalis we were looking after. Didn't have any idea what would happen.

I loved my Pippa dolls. Dad built me a wooden doll house and mum bought some furniture for it. I would sit on the floor and play with the dolls and rearrange the furniture, for hours. I had the doll with the blue high neck top. And the one with a red and white spot dress. Still have them somewhere. Had some others too. Not sure which ones.

What a charming video! I'm a 60s/70s era doll collector and did have Pippa as a child. But am more of a Barbie collector. I do have a Pippa clone though so maybe will be tempted one day!

Thank you so much. My Nan was very proud of the fact that her own Grandmother was a seamstress in the Royal household. I still remember the talks and the discussions we had over the outfits and colours for each doll. She took the task very seriously. I wish my Nan could have seen this video displaying her work, she would have been astonished.
Nicole, can you answer a question for me? Are Pippa and Dawn dolls close enough in size to easily swap clothing? I'm a doll clothing designer, and I've recently found the Dawn doll for "I dream of Jeannie" at a second hand store. I'd like to design some doll clothes patterns for her, but I will need to know whether or not Pippa can also wear her clothes. Thanks, in advance, for addressing my question!
Hello Chelly, yes both Pippa dolls by Palitoy and Dawn dolls by Topper are 6.5 inches high. I actually call them all Pippa dolls. Some have jointed legs, others bendy legs but ALL clothes fit all the dolls, thank goodness. I'd be very interested to see your patterns.
