Remember Melissa has her eyes closed so she doesn't know when he 'taps' her shadow. He actually tapped her when her friend selected the card (notice his left arm is obscured by her when the camera goes back to him and her friend is too busy looking at the cards to see it). When he asks her what she felt she is describing what she felt BEFORE he 'tapped' the shadow. For the second time he just says "And again!.. What did you feel?", so she just repeats the answer. He only ever tapped her 3times.
