This is my version of a tune by the Shadows called Find Me a Golden Street. The melody was composed by Norman Petty, best known as Buddy Holly's record producer.

When instrumental rock was at the peak of its popularity, bands found inspiration from many sources. In 1964 The Shadows came out with Chattanooga Choo. The big band classic was composed in 1941 by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren, and made famous by Glenn Miller.

This classic instrumental by the legendary Stax Studio (Memphis) band was released in 1968. I am attempting to create the guitar part played by Steve Cropper. A great example of how to lock in a rhythm part with the rest of band, and how soul music guitar parts were played.

This nostalgic novelty song was a surprise hit in 1966. The New Vaudeville Band was managed by Peter Grant, also the manager a few years later of Led Zeppelin (small world!)

This is my cover of Night Train. Inspired by jazz tenor saxophonist Jimmy Forrest's original 1952 recording, The Ventures' version appeared on their first album, Walk, Don't Run, in 1960.
