    Though I did not know her well, I knew her enough to know that the words spoken here are true. She was a wonderful person, always kind and full of life, with a positive outlook despite all she had been through. I only learned today of her passing, and I was heart-broken and devastated. May her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life and her memory be for a blessing.

    For a child to wake up to the realization that your parents don't love you as much as they love murder, expect a generational earthquake among the next Palestinian generation. I think we need to be better Jews and get these identity issues worked out amongst ourselves because our capacity to achieve a breakthrough transformation (not very realistic goal) is to be the overwhelmingly better alternative. Rabbi Motti Berger at Aish liked to point out that the conflict intensifies as the adversaries become more ideologically similar: monotheist to monotheist. Scriptualist against Scriptualist. My discussions with secular Jews is astonishing to me when they outline expressions of identity. THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF OUR GENERATION IS THE CHALLENGE OF IDENTITY. - Ohad Tal

    Sholom Alechem. L’Shaim Shamayim. Thank you for taking your time to discuss Torah! I’ve spoken with Reb Noach Weinberg on the rooftops of Jerusalem discussing “Clarity or Death”, and he taught me that if I ever shied from seeking clarity, I would be as Chavah- silently and shamefully hiding. And Chava did not say “I am sorry, I made a mistake”. And Reb Noach taught me that I would be accountable in the World to Come, if I failed to pursue clarity. I enjoyed your talk, yet I seek clarity. The straight pshot of the Asara Dibrot is only not to use the Name in vain, and Deut 10:20 (Ekev)(et al) Torah says specifically: ...and in His Name you shall swear”. Yet as I understand the lecture, you say the Jewish halacha has in the real world resulted in “erasing” the “Spoken Name” from the face of the ether. (for 2000 years now…) ? There’s a cost benefit analysis. What is the cost to the Jewish People of "erasing" His spoken Name forever vs. the G-dless who would curse His name to mock you. And those righteous clarity seekers, whose foundational midos include “please, thank you, I’m sorry I made a mistake, and I don’t know”, will rarely, if ever, misuse the Name anyway. And if they do blasphemy Hashem’s name when drunk or under pressure, the blanket prohibition will in any case have been useless. I pray this message finds its way to you, and you take from your precious time to assist me in clarifying this. Thank you.

    Shalom Alechem! L’shaim Shamayim. Please, if you could help me to understand... Imho… Amazing listening to you recite the laws remembering and guarding Shabbos. How could your eloquent discourse be halacha when it could not and does not comport with the "straight pshot” of the 3 relevant parshas : Bereishit, Yisro and V’etchanan that say bless, sanctify, remember or guard: Aleph Tav (et). Bereishit 2:1 V’Yivarech Elohim et...V'y'Kadesh otoh (etoh); Yisro:8- Zachor et; V’etchanan: 12 Shamor et? How are you coming to any conclusions on how to bless, sanctify, remember and guard the Shabbos with no definition of Aleph-Tav? Thank you for your time assisting me getting clarity. I'm certainly willing to admit I'm wrong,

    לשנות אורח חיים 180 מעלות בבת אחת.לא כל אחד מסוגל לעשות.אבל להתחיל צעד אחר צעד במטרה להגיע לפסגה.מזה אי אפשר להתחמק. האמונה בבורא.שנמצאת בכל אחד ואחת.אמנם מתנגשת ברצונות בהמיים.לחיות חיי חופש והפקר. אבל זה לא מצדיק התעלמות טוטאלית.מהתייחסות לרצון האמיתי.להגיע ולהשתלב. במטרה הנצחית.לה ברא הבורא את הבריאה הנפלאה האינסופית "ואתם הדבקים בה' אלוקיכם חיים כולכם היום" התחברות להקדוש ברוך הוא-על ידי לימוד תורה וקיום מצוות היא נצחית. המרחק בין איכות חיי נמלה לאיכות החיים של שלמה המלך, לא יכול לשמש דוגמא; ל המרחק בין איכות חיי נשמה, לאיכות חיי גוף בעולם הזה. כי בין רמות איכויות החיים השונים בעולם הזה, יש איזה שהוא יחס. אם כי המרחק יכול להיות אסטרונומי. בכל זאת הם כולם במסגרת חיי גוף. חיי נשמה, שביכולתה להחיות גוף, הוא מסוג שונה לגמרי, בלתי ניתן לדמיין או להשוותו לחיי גוף, לאיזה רמה שלא תהיה. הבורא לא מוגבל בכמויות ואיכויות וסוגי חיים שונים שהוא יכול לייצר ומייצר. הוא מייצר סוגי חיים שונים באינספור רמות שונים. שאין להם כלל השוואה לאינספור סוגי החיים ברמות שונות של העולם שלנו הקטן. התורה וחוקי המצוות מותאמים לא רק לחיי הנשמה כשהיא עדיין קשורה עם הגוף. אלא בעיקר לחיי הנשמה כאשר היא מתעלה בעילוי אחרי עילוי ברמות ובאיכויות אינסופיות לאור באור החיים את ה'. חיי תענוגי הגוף הזמניים, החולפים ונעלמים ו כלא היו, אינם יכולים לשמש כתחליף לחיי נשמה נצחיים. ועל זה אמרו חכמינו זכרונם לברכה; "יפה שעה אחת בתשובה ומעשים טובים בעולם הזה מכל חיי העולם הבא". "יפה שעה אחת של קורת רוח בעולם הבא מכל חיי העולם הזה". התורה והמצוות מקיפות את חיי אדם מיום גיחו מבטן אמו עד עת פקודתו. ומעמידות אותו בקרן אורה בשכל בריא, וקנין מידות נעלות והנהגות ישרות לא רק בן אדם למקום אלא גם בן אדם לחברו. כי המתנהג על פי התורה והוראות חכמינו זכרונם לברכה הוא חי חיים מאושרים בגשם וברוח. כל עוד המדענים לא המציאו פטנט לחיות חיי נצח איכותיים. הרי חיים בלי תורה ומצוות. בזבוז אחד גדול.

    The United States should end military aid to Israel,, 1. Israel can pay for its own military. Israel has a strong economy, an excellent international credit rating, and runs frequent budget surplus. Israel ran an annual surplus of more than a billion dollars six out of the last ten years. 2. Military aid to Israel is a security risk. Israel is a major supplier of military technology to China. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of the Chinese military. Israel developed the Lavi fighter from American technology with 1.5 billion in American subsidies. Israel sold the Lavi fighter to China. It is now called the J-10 and is the mainstay of the Chinese Air Force. Israel has also sold China missile guidance systems,, advanced radar systems and targeting systems. 3. Israel is a diplomatic liability. 4. Military aid to Israel is illegal under the Leahy Law because of Israel's human rights violations. Any aid to Israel is illegal under the Symington amendment which prohibits aid to nations with nuclear weapons that have not signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and do not permit inspections of their nuclear sites

    • @yonisamber8169
      @yonisamber8169 Год назад

      You are correct that Israel can manage without the aid. What you miss is the privilege that the aid bestows onto the United States. Israel is worth our investment because they fight against the very evil that the U.S. was founded to provide an escape from. As long as the U.S. wants to stay home and isolate with MAGA tropes, then the only ideal that we can brag about is that we support those who are willing to step up and fight for those ideals. If we yank the support, then what is left of our city on a hill? If we cant contribute to preventing the overrunning of the only Jewish country in the world, the only liberal democracy in the middle east, then what justifies our claim to global leadership? Regarding China- Israel worked with them prior to Xi rebranding his country to focus on global dominance. Israel has been on the same page as the U.S. for a while now. You cite incidents from the 1980s-90s. Regarding the human rights violations- actions taken in self defense against a population who consistently poll at 80% support for homicidal attacks against Jewish Israeli civilians do not strike me as running afoul of human rights. And all the U.N. condemnations against Israel only serve to strengthen my view.

    Chazan - this is really beautiful - so much so that I am listening to it AFTER the yamim noraim :) May I suggest something "heretical?" In Aleinu, when you get to ומשתחוים ומודים - לפני מלך that you work in Carlebach's old ממקומך, the climactic part of בתוך ירושלים עירך, so that the לפני מלך is the same tune as Mimekomecha's לדור ודור. It's a bit off of the nusach, but incredibly appropriate and powerful. Yasher koach!
