I can't believe Eric Braeden is still on The Young And The Restless to this day. What an iconic actor and his portrayal of Victor Newman is the main reason i even watched this.
I remember my mom watching on her lunch breaks when I was in preschool. It wasn’t until I was a teenager asking her what the hell that symbol was. She like the “Y” and the “R”. Oh. I said. Lol
Thank you for posting. People were arguing on a site on Facebook today about the beginning credits . I knew that it was Michelle Stafford that walks in the black dress .
Dang. I was enjoying this so much, and then Kristoff St. John appeared on the screen. A little dagger in the heart. I still can't believe he's gone. So very sad.
I'm a 90s kid and this takes me back to when I would stay home from school, I don't actually watch the soaps but if I had to follow one The young and the restless would be it.
its crazy how i remember the red one, the one that ended in 2003 but i was born 2004. lol but yes!! around noon time, my grandma loves watching these even tho she keeps saying she'll stop watching them but nope, keeps watching them
My mom never kept up with this show too much, she liked Guiding Light better but they were on right next to each other when I was a kid and the opening used to scare me for some odd reason
i’m only 14, but these intros give me such nostalgia. i remember i didn’t have preschool on wednesday and my grand parents would watch me, every day at 12 i think, they would have to watch their “story”. i don’t usually hear about it anymore, but since it’s summer and we spend a lot of time with them, i’ve been watching it again
Aww, your Grandparents seem so cool. In My Family they were known as The Stories. We didn't watch Y & R. For My Grandparents it was All My Children, Another World or Somerset. As you know Bill Bell Co Created Another World. UK Fans was stunned when I told them that Megan Markle was on General Hospital as an Under Five.
Same here girl!! I knew what time it was when I heard this introduction 💯 I knew not to bother my grandma for the next hour when her soaps came on. Eventually as I got older I started watching them for myself too, I don't watch anymore but my grandma still calls me and updates about whats going on
My mom gets agressive over this show XD my mamaw was born in 43 i think and my mom and her always watched this show, even today after my grandmother my mom watches it, and sometimes i do too, but she has never missed an episode
The red and jazzed up verison of Y&R that was used in late 90s to early 00s omg they need to return to that version of the song it sounded so much more updated to the times.
The last intro is so harsh for the actors/actresses. The light doesn't do them any good. Every pore is visible on camera. I want soft, romanticized spotlights. Y&R red intro was absolutely perfect.
Back in the 1970s...I don't remember seeing an African-American actor/or actresses in the opening...it was maybe in the 1980s, but 1990s had more diversity because The Winters and The Barbers family joined the cast.
If you'd watched closely you would have seen lots of Black Actors in these openings... So you admit you would prefer some token inclusion then genuine? Wow...

Ok enough of this thug stuff change the channel
The best intro ever!
Watch this show growing up, many great memories, those we're the days 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 ...........

The first opening is the best
Soundtrack of my life.
1999-2003 was Great opening music 🎶 beautiful would of stuck with it longer

Did you ever watch the soap opera (Generations) ? He was on it also.
The 1973 intro kinda creeped me out bc long they been around
1990 is the one I remember. That intro is stuc in my brain forever
Takes we bac to when I was a child instantly

On Paramount+!
It's time to retire the lady in the long black dress....it's been almost 20 years. Time for something innovative.
Wow this show has been loved and been continuing for so long
Monday March 26 1973
The young and the restless is vintage
That's a long time ago
1973 was 48 49 YEARS ago
I love this show a LOT
This intro is so hypnotizing
its crazy how i remember the red one, the one that ended in 2003 but i was born 2004. lol but yes!! around noon time, my grandma loves watching these even tho she keeps saying she'll stop watching them but nope, keeps watching them
2:04 favorite shot of Brad
Mari Ho!! 2:00
My mom never kept up with this show too much, she liked Guiding Light better but they were on right next to each other when I was a kid and the opening used to scare me for some odd reason
12,000 episodes?! What the fuckkkkk
I remember my mom watching this show back in the 2000’s. Sometimes I would get bored and watch it with her.
I wish they’d bring back the red one. With the new cast of characters, it would be awesome ❤️
Classic
The 90s was when I started watching Y&R. Summer of 92 with my great aunt was where it all began
Glad they brought back the font from 1984. It’s timeless
Oh Kendall Nixon, there are quite a few of us left in this world.

I'm 14 too and my mom watches this

Beautiful characters
2:54. That's the one my mom watched when I was a kid. Ahh, memories☺

nobody liked the 1999-2003 opening, they went back to the original vibes
Just another case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I liked it!
As for someone that only listen to that opening in the early 2000 and after 2004 I glad they switch it back because it doesn't fit
I am glad the production company decided not to use the 1999-2003 music, and kept using the one which was and still is well-known.
Here i was thinking this came out in the 80's when I was a kid now I know its much older than me! Lol wow 😊
I was watching that about two years after Tom Selleck left the show. The year after Tom Selleck left, the theme song was a top ten hit.
@@deathtracer always a classic

2:26 why they on a hoverboard tho
My favorite intro was with the Red and Jazzed up version of their theme. ❤️
Me too! So many people disliked that one the most but I thought it was the best fit for the show.
Garbage
@@georgeca1234 It was differently sexy! 🥰
I love this show I love these characters
The Days of Our Live in Bread Lines and Prison Camps with Joe Biden
40+ years and not one token black person in the opening credits?..
Back in the 1970s...I don't remember seeing an African-American actor/or actresses in the opening...it was maybe in the 1980s, but 1990s had more diversity because The Winters and The Barbers family joined the cast.
You must don’t watch it then. Lol
Because they have blacks in their opening credits
If you'd watched closely you would have seen lots of Black Actors in these openings... So you admit you would prefer some token inclusion then genuine? Wow...
Ironically the Abbott's maid Mamie was the first regular black character on the show.
1990 to 1999 is false.. it changed in 1996
Are you sure I think it changed in 2013
vintage Ynr
Pretty amazing this soap is still ongoing. I remember chasing episodes during summer break from school. 😂
