Considering your rich procurement experience, I am assuming that you have earned most of the necessary skills by now and looking for a certification to add professional accreditation to your profile, while focusing on the specific areas you have mentioned. If this is true, then I would advise you to choose between CIPS and CPSM, depending on the time that you can invest for preparation. Both courses cover these topics in detail but CPSM has 3 papers in total while CIPS has total 6 levels with a number of papers at each level.

I would advise you to start your journey through a procurement role that helps you understand the basics of procurement like spend management, supply chain, sourcing, data analysis, negotiation etc, as these are not covered in BBA at all. Then within few years you can aim to become a Procurement Manager or Purchase Manager. People management, coaching and training skills additional to procurement expertise will be needed to fulfil your aim. So, in short start with the basics, with an aim to improvise on your domain as well as people management skills.

There are lot of ERP systems available in market and are used based on their applicability to a specific industry. But it is very easy to adapt any ERP system if your basics about purchasing processes and flow is clear. So, I again suggest to take a role and learn the ERP system that particular organization is using. Additionally, SAP (www.sap.com/index.html) is used commonly for vendor and payment management, ARIBA (service.ariba.com/) for spend management, COUPA (www.coupa.com/) for tendering across industries.

It totally depends on the organization structure, both teams are allowed to manage RFQs. Some organizations might not have separate Strategic Sourcing teams in addition to Category Management teams. The major difference will be in the decision making approach. Strategic Sourcing might select a supplier focused on a specific project/RFQ and cost, while Category Management will consider total life cycle cost, Supplier Relationship status and future strategies of engagement with supplier.

Technical assessment will be conducted by the team who is handling the RFQ. Depending on the industry, most organizations will have Enginnering, R&D or Supplier Quality Engineers to assist with the techincal assessment of product offerings.

All these certifications will include a module about inventory management. But if you want to get a specific certification focused only on planning and inventory, then you can explore CPIM- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management by ASCM. Last year on 1st Feb, CPIM 8.0 has been launched, under which two exams have been combined to one, compared to previous CPIM 7.0

It is difficult to answer this without knowing your background but what I can tell you is that you can definitely start your journey and learn procurement, irrespective of your previous expertise. I am a huge advocate of learning on the job, and then you have ample learning resources available today in terms of training and certifications.
