How Did Jason, Spencer And I All Get Our Dynamic Soaring Planes Over 500mph?
Просмотров 8 тыс.12 лет назад
We took em in a jet to Weldon. Also check out the maiden of Jason's "light" Thundertaker towards the end of the video. He's able to fly tighter laps than I've ever seen him do with a Thundertaker because it was so light. Also you may see at the end of the video what we all see when we get a little low. Nice Job Jason!
The Maiden Flight Of The Dynamic 130 inch

Here is a video of the latest Joe Manor Dynamic Soaring Model creation! This first copy of the Dynamic 130 weighs about 42 pounds, has a one hundred and thirty inch wing span and on this flight reaches a top speed of 381mph with Joe at the controls. John Buxton also fly's the plane. The video captures the launch, a few laps and the landing of this maiden flight, April 18, 2011, Weldon Californi...
Take A Dynamic Soaring Ride In The Kinetic 100 HN
Просмотров 28 тыс.13 лет назад
This is an onboard video of the Kinetic 100HN flown by Chris Bosley at Weldon California Wednesday April 13, 2011. The plane made by Spencer Lisenby reaches speeds of about 250mph. From launch to landing only a small bit of the flight is cut to keep the video under 10minutes. The sound is a little harsh but it's interesting because the camera's microphone starts to whistle at different speeds a...
The incredible ThunderMaster goes 425mph!!
Просмотров 38 тыс.13 лет назад
Watch as four pilots, Spencer Lisenby, Jason Lilly, Bruce Tebo and Chris Bosley fly the incredible ThunderMaster at Weldon California to a maximum speed of 425mph by Dynamic Soaring. If you watch the video you'll notice that the radar measurements at the top of the hill were the microphone is only get's 413mph or 418mph. The lower speed measurements at Radar Rock for this flight were all higher...

Just a quick upload so Spencer can analyze the circuit time of the K100 flight. Spencer Lisenby sets the Weldon Hill record by flying/Dynamic Soaring his 100" Kinetic to 460mph. The video was taken with a GoPro Camera and the sound was recorded with a Hero HD sound recorder by Chris Bosley.
Spencer's World Record 468mph Kinetic100DP flight video!!!
Просмотров 424 тыс.13 лет назад
On February 2, 2011 Spencer Lisenby flew his own design the Kinetic 100 DP to 468mph setting a new world record at Norco California in winds gusting over 65mph. Here is a video compilation part of that flight. The radar gunner, Chris Bosley also flew the plane and his flight is included in the second half of the video. Unfortunately in the second portion of the flight the plane is more visible ...

Bruce Tebo Fly's (Dynamic Soars) his Dynamic80/D80 at Weldon California. Some of the closest high speed video I've got to date...
Awesome
Good crazy ride!
This reminds me of the external camera shots of the bomber in Dr Strangelove 😂
770 mph and you break the sound barrier...
Beautiful glider! Dynamic soaring is so crazy, I don’t think I’d have the reflexes, and I used to fly Rc helis, gliders, planes, EDF’s, still fly some bit those things and so fast,
This looks dangerous as fuck.... has anyone got hit???
Parabéns. Estou vendo aqui do Brasil.
I mean, this is cool!
Put a camera in the nose!
Ah R/C gliders. Such a smooth and relaxing hobby.....
Troll
Too much camera movement. Makes it hard to see the plane. Use a tripod and zoom out enough to catch a bulk of the action
You should have been there a day earlier when he flew his fast one... :-0
Where is the airplane?
This is insane, and like many other aspects of the hobby it must be massively addictive chasing the limits and speed of the location and aircraft, great flying! This is amazing
Why not put a GPS device in there to register the speed? 🤔🤔
Consumer grade GPS loses lock when accel exceeds ~4-6G. We typically fly between 60-120G. Only military grade GPS would work...
@@sll914 WOW
Waste of time... can't see a thing.
I think everyone who liked this video is just happy for the record. I watch tons of RC flight (helis, quads, planes) videos and can follow fast movers without an issue, so the lack of being able to really see the plane makes this content kind of useless to me -.-
Loved the negative ground speed at the end! What a plane, and vast envelope of performance!!
Full scale with passengers next time 😃!
Oh wow! I know exactly where that is!!!! Used to fly here in the early to mid 80's before they built so many developments! We used to call this section of the ridge the Vacuum Cleaner. Flew just south of here on the hill above Cresta Verde Park. We called that one suicide hill. Myself and only a very few other guys ever flew this area. I started flying here after seeing a guy on an old school hang glider sloping this ridge for over an hour before landing back up on top. Very curious as to where your landing zone is? This ridge is very rocky and boulder strewn with lots of thick tumbleweeds. Best bet always seemed to get enough altitude to penetrate the lift and line up behind the ridge to hover in and catch the glider by hand. This ridge was about the best kept secret in all of Southern California. Wondering what and where you access the ridge from today? With all the development and a radio repeater site located on "Suicide Hill" certainly seemed to ruin this place. Especially all the changes to terrain that upset a section of ridge to the south. Back in the day looking to the west was just an empty valley with a dry lake bed and an old dozer half sticking up from the dried up mud. To the east was nothing at all but a dirt road where McKinley is now. The road led to an old goat farm. Just beyond that and off of Buchanan was the old Corona Raceway and MX track. Lots of dirt bike trails inbetween. Damn, I miss sloping here! Please contact me if anyone has plans to slope here! I would love to spectate, maybe even build a sport slope plane or even a foaming flying wing to take up here and spend the afternoon with a glider and sixpack of glider fuel!!!!!! One more comment,,, last time I flew here, I brought my Kyosho Concept 30SR and pretty much mostly autogyro'd the ridge! It was awesome shooting rolls at eye level with the heli! Pretty much used to be able to fly anything off this Ridge. Kludge some servos to a cinder block and it might fly!
What powers this plane?
the idiot holding the camera didnt rec the plane neither the radar.... wtf??? you only had to do one job
460mph!!!! How do you even follow / control the plane, wow.
How do you see it! I have enough trouble with my wanderer just floating around!
I was cringing watching this. What kind of servos and control surfaces on a R/C plane handle this?

Can someone please expain tthe sounds?? Im really interested!
How the hell does that go that fast with just wind
dynamic soaring
i was wondering how fast can an rc glider actually go they look pretty speedy in the slope soaring videos but i was not expecting this! i wasnt even expecing 50mph, holy shit thats fuckig fast
Just for fun, I found an online calculator and timed Spencer's circles at approx 3 seconds, then found that he's flying them at approx 400 ft diameter. And, as we all are aware, he now holds the latest world record at 519mph!!!!!!!!!
ruclips.net/video/MoaWlKC3wIM/видео.html Now up to 545mph and shows landing 😁
all I wanted was to see you land it.... guess you crashed bummer....otherwise well done:)
So I don't understand the whole back side of the slope thing. Dumb kid explanation would help.
Could a similar life size glider be built like that & flown with those speeds.
Thanks for no music! Nothing like glider against wind music.
Wow.
Boy, watching that plane fly was fun...uhm what color was it. YOU WASTED MY TIME!
Sure would like to see the landings... hint;-)
Could anyone see that thing
when that thing passes just a little too close you could lose your head in an instance and I don't mean on good drugs
It sounds like it was about to brake a mini sound barrier.
Super sonic hot liner glider!
I dread to think what damage carnage would occur if anything went wrong, the pilot should be behind wall imo
The terrain is ideal for dynamic soaring.
How do you get it to go in the circuit and get to those speed?
Very impressive thanks for the video. Love physics, but would love to rewrite thermos dynamics :). Hope I can post a video you will enjoy at a later date.
For those who are NHL fans, you might remember when a visual feature was introduced to televised games that made tracking puck movement simple for any viewer. A purple irridecent glimmer ball effect mimicked the puck's movement in real time, or very nearly so. Personally, I didn't like it and served as more of a distraction than anything else. The purple spot would show through the wall boards which was hard to get used to seeing. For example, two opposing players grind it out in the corner in effort to gain possesion of the puck. From the perspective of a camera not too far behind the wall and up a bit, the action between the two players was not visible except for waist level and up, but that purple blob could be seen dancing around....lol Loooooonggg winded....so sorry--my point here is say that while I had no problem following a hockey puck, following the plane was always a problem. Heck, the first 4-5 times the camera swung right 90 degrees and then back, I had no idea why and started getting aggravated with the videographer for being a jackass :) It's crazy fast but like nascar, going in circles, albeit at stupid fast speeds, just does't hold my interest enough to commit to that flavor of rc. Mad respect though as I have no doubt piloting at those speeds require a level of hand-eye skill beyond that of most people....like a goalie in hockey
New speed is 513 goto rcspeeds.com for a complete listing of all speeds...
What material is that glider made of? Because it looks really fast and a fast plane means that it is very light.
Reduce the video speed to .25 and you will see the plane
For sure it ist fast. but I simply don't believe it. If a turbine-jet does reach 440mph. Maybe an extremly aerodynaic arrow made of uranium (biggest weight to volume ratio) dropped from a balloon at 40km height might reach this speed but not a sailplane. For an entry into the guinness world-record book you need some official witnesses. Repeat it in that way and I will believe it.
Funny we have been hearing this kind of skepticism for years. We have met scientists from woods hole ocean engineering, been written about in science magazines, had rides in private jets and even motivated the main producers of radar guns to increase their top speeds… All because of the sceptics so lol… you like the rest will someday sit behind one of our rock walls as one of these gliders flys by at over 500mph. And who cares about Guinness?
