Me & Our Kid 1970s
Me & Our Kid (two brothers from Salford) were a close harmony duo singing Beatles, Everlys and mostly 60s songs. We began in the late 60s. This video was filmed at the Amber Club on Oldham Road, Newton Heath when Barry Lomas was the owner. Playing bass on this video is our cousin Mike Gaughran and playing drums is his brother Phil Gaughran.

This song was written by Billy Connolly about his birthplace, Glasgow. A friend of mine, Pete MacMillan (very proud Salford lad) changed the words so that he could sing the same song but about his birthplace. I changed a few more words and added a verse to personalise it even more so that I could sing about MY Salford. Hope you like it!
