It took so long for my kids to learn to read this way. It was so frustrating. I paid for Hooked on Phonics and my son would refuse to do it because he was told he’s not allowed to sound out the word 🤦♀️
It's true that the education system seems to have lost track of facilitating the opportunity to achieve the joy of finding out stuff they didn't know before.... and that's a shame because it's something that stays with you your whole life through. I'm greatgrandma now but I still enjoy learning new things
